Reaction to the Jan Brewer encounter is still bubbling, with some black commentators now suggesting the image of the Arizona governor wagging her finger at the President of the United States has touched a nerve in the African American community.
On MSNBC Thursday, Al Sharpton posited that Brewer's treatment of President Obama was another example of disrespect in a list of many for the nation's first black president. His guest, Sirius XM host Joe Madison, said such incidents show that there are people "who cannot stand the fact that this is an African-American who is now one of the most powerful individuals on the planet," Mediaite reported.
An NAACP official went a few steps further in an interview with POLITICO Friday, saying the tiff played on age-old and discriminatory stereotypes of whites being superior to blacks. Hilary O. Shelton, senior vice president for advocacy and policy at the NAACP, said he was particularly disturbed by Brewer telling reporters afterward that she "felt a bit threatened if you will, in the attitude that he had."
"What were you afraid he would do, steal your purse?" Shelton said.

On CNS website they had a link yesterday going to video that suggested she warmly greeted him then he basically started in on her about her book.
Michelle Malkin has a great commentary on how it was basically (paraphrasing) “his Toddlers and Tiara’s meltdown caught on camera” (thank you Ms. Malkin for describing it so well lol)

We do not have a black president. We do not have an African-American president. We have nothing of the kind. How many years did he spend in an urban public school, taught by people who thought him incapable of learning, and therefore making his classes and curriculum soft? How many times did he sleep in an apartment overrun by roaches or perhaps rodents? OTOH, how many times did he celebrate family and the black community when he was a boy living in Hawaii or Indonesia, or that notable ghetto in Washington state? He knows the American black experience like Mitt does; he visits it in his motorcade.

Liberals are the only people who care that Obama is black. The president’s detractors dislike him because he’s a terrible president. Black has nothing to do with it.
Oh yeah, I know a black woman who truly IS irritated at Jan. I felt like saying to her “Real Presidential of TOTUS to stomp off while she was speaking.”
Bottom line, I know the Hussein urban base will take any and every challenge to their hero as a racist attack. Jan’s action just happened to be the one.

He has failed you in every way, destroyed the chance you have to actually stand on your own feet and provide for your family, and you defend him...based entirely on the color of his skin. In the upcoming month of February, designated Black History Month, you know so little about your own history that you cannot grasp the irony that MLK, Jr. would turn his face in disgust from you...because you are incapable of judging The One's character, having first decided that the REAL thing that counts is the color of his skin. To you, it is impossible that I could completely object to the President on the basis of how he has completely destroyed the greatness of my native land; to you, you Liberal idiots, if I am offended by his lack of character, his weakness, his elitist nature, his complete lack of business experience, his inability to understand high-school level economics, and God help us all, his overpowering VANITY, it cannot POSSIBLY be that I despise HIM, it MUST be that I am a racist.
