I think it is sort of like this.
You and your wise ass, big talking 90 pound weakling friend go to a bar for drinks. Your friend is sort of a geek, but he has been a friend for a long time and is in the same line of work.
Being a geek and social fail, wise ass gets drunk. He gets drunk and starts acting out. His acting out makes people very angry, and for good reason. You look on in horror.
A bunch of people decide it is a good idea to beat your obnoxious geek friend to a bloody mash of bone fragments, meat chunks and organ mash. You try to calm the situation long enough to get your drunk, geek, loser friend out of the bar alive.
It is not a discredit to Levin for trying to save his worthless friend’s ass, but his friend is still a smack worthy jackass.
That is my take on Levin’s position.

"There was very little positive news for Newt in the past couple of days. There is some today and Drudge has it, and has had since this morning. Trending." Nice try but no cigar...Several people tried all day bloody Thursday to get Drudge to post positive stories about Newt and rebuttals to the negatives but he refused.
As for your idea that none of the "conservative" pundits could possible have an agenda to heard sheep to the left, I say, good for you little sheeple. Here's hoping you never get Coulter-punked with your little idol there...pats you on the head.
To all....Don't you just loved political virgins..they are so cute.

I like your analogy, because that was my take as I listened to Mark talk about Drudge and Coulter.
Mark stood up in a big way yesterday for Newt and has slammed Romney for the past two days. I am not going to rip him for his Drudge explanation.
It doesn’t matter to me...I am done with Drudge.

Drudge is like all reporters and media outlets. Sensational headlines and stories to get you to their sites. Most of them, including Rush, Hannity, etc won’t take sides. You don’t want to cut off future potential guests by endorsing someone until the primaries are decided.
Drudge is not who we need to be worried about. Start with CNN, MSNBC, NPR, CBS, etc. They are real enemy of freedom and liberty.

I just see it that Drudge merely reported what was out there. I didn’t see any commentary by Drudge on those articles. Why is Drudge in trouble for reporting what you are up against?
Would anyone have felt any better getting the news that was out there from another source? Sticking your head in the sand isn’t going to make it go away.

Mark Levin stood against the storm yesterday and defended Newt in a big big way.
Not going to Rain on Mark because he threw a life line to Drudge.
Drudge was either pumping Shyte for web hits or to Bolster his buddy Mittens. Either way that make him a whore.
Im through going to Drudge.

I don’t know what is going on on FR anymore. Yesterday Mark was the Angel Gabriel for defending Newt. Today he is the Devil for defending Matt Drudge.
If you don’t tow the Newt line around here, you are excoriated. I can understand despising Romney, but FReepers are throwing conservatism out the door while banishing people who think Santorum is the best candidate.
I thought FR stood for conservative principles. What is going on?

If his worthless friend's ass is selling his ability to influence the outcome of an election, it is a VERY big discredit.
Now I'm not saying that it's what's happening, because I don't know, but the stories that Drudge was putting up on his site, sure do make me wonder. And it can't be argued that it wasn't a blatant negative attack.

Now that the dirty deed is complete and the damage done- Newt trailing in Florida, Drudge wants to go back to the way things were.

Oh yeah, Levin and Limbaugh are trying to lead the sheeple to the left. Gee how could I have missed that?
And ‘political virgin’? Funny stuff there. Surely you can be more clever than that.

That’s how I see it, as well.
And as for Ann Coulter, I was listening when Mark mentioned her. I don’t know how anyone could say he was defending her. He said she was a good friend, but that she has twisted herself into a pretzel and abandoned her principles to support Romney.
To: vbmoneyspender
Mark has started to wander dangerously close to Glenn Beck moonbat territory.

I'm gonna throw this out there:
Is it possible that Mark is right, technically? Hear me out: There are two former members of Team Romney working at Drudge. All over the media, National Review, Fox, Drudge, etc, there was a "Bloody Thursday," obvious coordinated attack on Newt Gingrich.
Is it possible that these Romney operatives, all of whom were obviously in on the coordinated attack, simply abused their positions at the respective news sights? Is it possible that the FOURTEEN negative stories about Newt were put up by the Romney Operatives at Drudge without Drudge giving an outright approval? Is it possible that Elliot The liar at National Review simply put out his false stuff and creatively edited crap about Newt without having given full disclosure to the NRO staff?
Romney operatives are the most vile, vicious, despicable liars and scumbags known to man. I would not put it past them to have ambushed their own publications (Drudge, NRO, et al) in order to try and score a knockout blow against Newt. All I am saying is: it is POSSIBLE that Matt Drudge simply trusted his employees not to abuse their positions and do what they did on "Bloody Thursday?" I guess we'll see in the coming days. One thing that would exonerate him greatly would be to hear that the Romney operatives had been dismissed or indefinitely suspended.
I don't think that reprimand is too much to ask from NRO and Drudge if indeed they were not behind or aware of the coordinated smears. If Drudge announces a reprimand as such, I'll be the first to point out the lengths he went through to defend his integrity. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if my theory is anything more than an incorrect hunch, though.
