A caller tried to explain that to Rush today, but Rush was having nothing to do with it.

I won’t agree to be led by these lying swine. Obama’s at least winning points on honesty.

Newt states in this piece that he wants to build upon Reaganism and beyond.
My take on this is that Newt is saying H. W. Bush should run on new ideas and not just say "everything's fine, so let's just re-elect me on that." In other words, don't sit on your ass now that we've got this ball rolling.
I hope that Newt has a good answer to this tonight b/c he'll be asked/attacked on it.

Newt has a lot of Establishment bull to shoot at tonight during the debate.

Newt makes it very clear in the video he wanted to build on Reaganism, but go beyond Reaganism!
The lies Mitt is willing to tell with the help of Drudge and others knows no bounds.

The GOP Elitists that pushed the “Newt Bashed Reagan” meme, have just signed the death warrant for the GOP.

Bottom line: I don't care what people say Newt said/says or how many audios/videos they come up with to disparage this man any more than I care what the authors of the federalist papers thought or said when they were contemplating the penning of the US Constitution. What ended up on record as the final document is what it is and their musing, while interesting, have nothing to do with what they ultimately gave the citizens of the United States. Likewise the mud being slung at Newt in no way detracts from the FACT that Newt's recorded 'legislative' "record" has been nothing but "CONSERVATIVE." Forget the words that have allegedly come out of his mouth. Look at what he's done. Americans were bamboozled by a slick talking, empty headed Kenyan with NO verifiable record of his actions and that idiot has now plunged not only the US but the world into the worst economic period in recorded modern history.
Santorum is a good Christian man but very legalistic. Paul is... Well... Paul. Gingrich has a long record of forwarding the Conservative agenda (Oh... I know, Delay and other spitful, petty little men want to try and take all the credit for what Newt managed to spearhead while he was Speaker and try as they might to distance Newt from his/their work Newt always turned up on the correct side when the votes were counted.)
My opinion.... Is there a better person than Newt Gingrich to represent the conservative/Tea Party movement??? Probably but that person isn't running and I don't know who it might be. I do know that Gingrich, in my opinion, is better than the other four (obama, romney, Santorum, Paul) to occupy the White House.
Note... Should we beat Obama it won't matter who we send to the White House if we can't end Harry Reid's control of the Senate and replace, if not all, most of the RINOs in both chambers.
To: Jay777
Its the minute or two afterward you also need to hear to understand that Newt wasnt bashing Reagan at all. Romney and the Establishment! They're trying to run a cynical, vicious scam.
They're not only attacking Gingrich, they're attacking Reagan and conservatism itself.

Call me crazy, but I think Newt was preparing everybody for a letdown. He knew that Bush43, although a nice guy, was no Ronald Reagan. I think in a way, he was trying to lower everybody’s expectations.
