There’s a short excerpt of a 1988 C-SPAN video purportedly showing Newt Gingrich bashing Reagan when talking about how Bush, Sr. should run. As I suspected, it’s edited to give a false impression. What you don’t see is immediately after when Gingrich praises Reaganism and the Reagan platform. If you can’t watch it all, it begins at about 2:30 in to confirm it’s the same segment. It’s the minute or two afterward you also need to hear to understand that Newt wasn’t bashing Reagan at all.

I heard a little bit of what Rush said, he seemed to present it as factual.
To put it mildly—what you hear on Limbaugh’s show these days is not certain to be accurate.
The part debunking it or the part where he supposedly bashes Reagan?

I listened to a few minutes of Rush today. He started with “The attacks on the Republican candidates are horrible.” He continued with “Newt is horrible.” I thought he was going to turn the “Newt is horrible” into a commentary about the attacks in general, but I was wrong. His point was “Newt is horrible”. The dissonance was palpable. I thought it was a parody, but the punch line never came.

Rush is lazy. He should know better, instead of running with this. He has a memory too assume, like I do. TEll mr. Rush that his buddy in TExas is disappointed. He will know who it is. I supported him with money and time in the early years, back when he did his homework. How embarrassing.
