What's with Ann Coulter?
1/26/12 | self

Posted on 01/26/2012 5:00:02 AM PST by Jerrybob

What's with these talking heads, Ann Coulter especially, and their vitriol against Newt? I've always liked Ann, she is SO conservative; now she's pitching for Romney and slamming -- really slamming -- Newt. I don't get it.

she hates Obama more than she loves newt, and can accept Romney as President. Pretty simple in my mind.

The exact opposite of a lot of people on this site. No wonder many are turning against her here.

THEN FOX ATTACKS OTHERS FOR THEIR BIAS, WHAT A JOKE THE MSM HAS BECOME.

Fox & Friends was one of the last FNC programs I enjoyed watching. Brian Kilmeade is especially disappointing with his little Shep Smith style side comments about Newt. The bias is blatent.

On Hannity last night, Newt said he was exonerated of all 84 ethics charges in the 90’s, pointed out that Romney had investments in Fannie and Freddie and also that he has two lobbyists for Fannie and Freddie in his attack ad against Newt, and then he referenced this article in ‘08 regarding Newt’s advice on Fannie and Freddie:

Behind a G.O.P. Revolt, Ideology and Politics

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/26/washington/26cong.html?scp=2&sq=newt+gingrich+fannie+mae+freddie+mac&st=nyt

(excerpt)

Mr. Boehner and other House Republicans were furious at the White House for signing on to the bill, and they pointed to Mr. Paulson as the culprit. For his part, according to lawmakers who had discussions with the Treasury secretary, Mr. Paulson privately complained that the Republicans simply did not grasp the severity of the economic threat posed by the potential for a housing collapse.

What they do grasp is a need to draw some sharp distinctions between themselves and Democrats, and to reassert themselves as ardent foes of wasteful government spending. They are convinced that traveling a wayward fiscal path was the reason for their undoing in 2006.

“We learned our lesson after the 2006 election,” said a chastened Mr. Boehner. “I’d be the first to admit that I think some of my colleagues lost their way leading up to the ’06 election.”

Senior Republican officials acknowledged privately that another factor had also been at work in the Republican tide against the housing bill: the prospect of a leadership fight after the fall elections. Given the chance of losses in November, the current leadership team is not assured another term at the top. And Mr. Boehner, other Republican leaders and potential challengers are doing what they can to demonstrate their conservative bona fides to the rightward-tilting House Republican membership.

“I believe rewarding, encouraging and reinforcing risky investments should not be the role of the government and certainly shouldn’t be financed by taxpayers,” said Representative Roy Blunt of Missouri, the No. 2 Republican, in explaining his stance against the bill.

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich spoke at a private party meeting before the vote and joined Mr. Boehner in encouraging Republicans to oppose the measure, rallying lawmakers who remember that it was Mr. Gingrich’s ideas that prevailed in the halcyon days of the Republican revolution.

FOX DID AN EDITING JOB ON THIS INTERVIEW AND CUT ALL OF THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION OUT!!

I could understand if she was favoring Santorum. But Romney... doesn’t figure for Ann Coulter.

I don't think you'll find a single Newt supporter out there who doesn't know that Newt has a lot of warts. But you know what? They're tolerable in the context of what Mitt Romney brings to the table.

He's flip-flopped on every issue imaginable. He ran to the left of Ted Kennedy in 1994. HE ADMITTED THAT HIS VIEWS ARE PROGRESSIVE in 2002. He signed socialized medicine into law as governor, then used public funds to buy the hard drives of the computers used in drawing up Romneycare. He's on video saying it was "good" that Obama borrwed Romneycare's health exchanges, even though he claims to be against it now. He refused to call Barack Obama a socialist. He's equated Bain Capital with TARP, thus taking it off the table. He's defended the MSM after Gingrich nailed them for being biased scumbags, taking that off the table. Romney recently said that the economy IS GETTING BETTER under Obama, thus taking that off the table.

And that's just a choice sampling. Need I go on?

It only makes sense if she's doing it for a paycheck, or a job in her fantasy of a Romney administration.

Do a search and you’ll find plenty of Coulter attacks on Newt.

In 2008, the establishment was behind McCain and against Romney. What on earth has Romney done for the last four years to get the establishment to line up behind him in 2012, other than to campaign for the past four years?

Romney would be a ‘don’t rock the boat’ sort of liberal Republican who will be powerless to make any meaningful changes. The GOP establishment will be able to call the shots as they wish. Under a Newt Presidency, all of this will be out the window. The establishment has gone “all in” for Romney, for better or worse.

The establishment GOPers are weak-kneed. Once Newt amasses more victories, he’ll consolidate his power base and the loudmouths will shut their mouths. These establishment types are not ideologues, but are finger-in-the-wind politicians.

It seems to have something to do with gay rights for both Coulter and Drudge.

Kilmeade is such a drama queen, he is like a little boy and actually has tantrums on the set.

How did he ever get through middle school is beyond me.

For years, the party faithful have been clamoring for an outsider, someone with business experience to help the economy grow buy taking government out of out lives. AC has been on the front lines listening to this time and time again. From her book tours to her speaking engagement to her debates with liberals, she been a warrior for the cause.

Right now, Newt being lionized as some sort of Reagan Jr and he’s no such thing. he’s a career beltway insider that only proposes government solutions to problems because he thinks that what “moderates” and “independents” want to hear. He has held unpopular positions on important issues like immigration, “climate change” and health care, which are key issues for average voters. Up until last summer, he has been very vocal about his distaste for conservative principles like the Ryan plan. He suddenly changes when he thought it was the best way to get into the race, which is what Romney did.

He’s never really held a job that didn’t have some sort of government money attached to it and he has no real business experience other than setting up a few “consulting forms” which were pretty much lobbyists without the license.

Aside from all that, he is one of the most disliked people in Washington, not because of his “anti-establishment” ways, but for the exact opposite. He’s unreliable and will not support people or issues that might make him look bad. This is why he’s currently attacking the media, because we all hate the media and it gets good applause lines. I’ve been on the “distrust the media” train since the 80’s and I welcome Newt aboard but we need more than nifty applause lines that get the audiences riled up, we need leadership. Getting audiences riled up over unrelated issues is what democrats do, that is what ACs book is about.

If you take away the Mormonism, Newt and Romney are very similar with the exception of the private sector experience, which is what people have been clamoring for.

I hope he is who people say he is because his record paints a different picture all together.
