What's with these talking heads, Ann Coulter especially, and their vitriol against Newt? I've always liked Ann, she is SO conservative; now she's pitching for Romney and slamming -- really slamming -- Newt. I don't get it.
Marfan’s syndrome ?
Ann supports the GOProud group, and it is known that Drudge is not flying straight.
From your lips to God's ears....
I’m not sure where it started. But I don’t think it’s a good idea. We need to vet them, we need to keep an open mind, and we need to be realistic.
Here’s a link to a fr thread that has a link to her rant on O’Reilly
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2837554/posts
1. She is first, foremost and ALWAYS about Ann Coulter. She's the ultimate self-aggrandizer for whom self-promotion is the only real imperative.
2. Have you read any of her books in a clear-sighted, unprejudiced manner? They are almost unreadable - smarmy, smart-assed and obviously written very quickly. Not high quality writing.
3. She is not a thinker or a reporter. Has she ever written or said anything that hasn't been written or said before, and in a far better manner?
4. Not to be mean, but FReepers have posted photos of her on this forum for years as if she is a beauty. She's not. She's skinny, has a narrow, pinched face and hollow eyes and cheeks. She tries to make up for her lack of good looks with long, dyed blonde hair and her ubiquitous, out-of-place black cocktail dress - the kind of woman I would steer clear of at any gathering.
I think the original poster meant something of the Italian sausage variety. :)
They sense that Newt is going to win in FL and all they can do is turn up the volume (or the frequency of the attack ads).

Agreed. Just read Drudge and get this, it’s news that the Gingrich campagin made a mistake/or lied in what they told ABC about offering rebuttal witnesses, for the ex-wife interview, in addition to the Gingrich daughters. And this is news..... so sad. We’re 15 trillion in debt, the housing market in in the toliet, unemployment remains high and we’re about to get socked with Obamacare. But the number of Gingrich rebuttal witnesses to an ex-wife’s interview is a hot news topic.
Just goes to show that if you are a Republican Conservative, you’d better walk on water, turn water to wine and raise people from the dead.
I’m going shopping......
“Whats wrong with her position?”
I’m not an Ann-fan but there is nothing wrong with her position. It’s her choice.
The beat-Obama folks have been silenced by bullies. I don’t know if they can be stirred up again for the big fight if it’s Gingrich. What’s worse is, I don’t think the beat-Romney crowd cares. Most have said they will not vote at all if Romney is the nominee. The presidency has become secondary while the newly discovered crooner-in-chief plays on your local ringtone.
What we should remember about him:
It’s the eye of the tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Rising up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he’s watching us all
with the eye of the tiger
As to why Romney is the darling of the GOP establishment - you could justifiably say "Finger in the wind"? Or you could say "pragmatic". They are backing Romney for the very simple reason that they think he has a better chance against Obama than anyone else. I personally think they are wrong, or at the very least that adopting someone like Romney is too high a price for victory, but I'm sure that is their reasoning. You are quite right about Gingrich though. If he wins the nomination, or even looks like he will, then they will all line up behind him as their "great hope". They would line up behind Rick Sartorum or even Ron Paul in the same way. Heck they would line up behind a hypothetical offspring of "Sauron the Great" and "Cruella de ville" called Damian with "666" written on his forehead, if they thought he could win.
“We can disagree with her, but I dont know why adults cannot discuss and disagree without resorting to personal attacks and speculations about someones sexuality.”
It is what it is here . . . anyone who’s been around long enough knows it. It’s not the tone of only this thread, it’s the tone of most threads. . . unless of course as in this particular election cycle, you’re on board with the “anybody but Mitt” brigade. Intimidation and name calling abound in that case.
Thank God these kinds of posters have no real power to influence anything.
If her position is simply that she believes Romney is more electable than Gingrich, that would be one thing. The problem is she is claiming that Romney is the most conservative out of all the candidates, and that is ridiculous. Add to that ludicrous position is the hyperbole and hysteria coming from her and attacking the voters who voted for somebody other than her choice. She is becoming unhinged over this primary and her behavior is really pathetic.
I agree with all of Ann’s comments there, except for the one that “Romney is the most conservative.” I dont know anyone on these boards who says that. Does she know something we dont?
Unless the convention drafts someone better than Gingrich or Romney, we are likely going to lose to Obama in November. Another wasted opportunity and likely the end of the America we know and love.
Ann is 50. Menopause can do some strange things to a woman’s brain...
Ann Coulter has 0 husbands. That must be by choice.
She was simply an opportunist who found a path to a bundle of money by hammering the weasel in chief. She isn’t a conservative in the least. She is, as were, the rats who jumped on the Reagan ship when it sailed. They hide their true colors while it serves their purpose. She is a money grubbing bridge troll who would not have had a continuing career without a knob like Obama to keep her fiery mouth on the front page.
