Newt Gingrich’s woman problem [I push leftist propaganda on FR and all I got was this zot]

How will the details revealed by Marianne Gingrich regarding her former husband’s personal life – and Newt Gingrich’s defiant response – play out among the GOP presidential primary electorate?

But it’s worth keeping in mind that even before Marianne Gingrich went public, Newt Gingrich was already facing tough odds when it comes to his support among women nationally — a factor that underscores the argument made by his GOP rivals against his electability in the fall.

There typically tends to be a gender gap in presidential general elections, as women vote more Democratic than men.

But a CNN/Time/Opinion Research survey conducted Jan. 11-12 showed that among national adults, Gingrich faces the biggest gender gap of all the GOP contenders.

If the general election had been held in mid-January – before news of the Marianne Gingrich interviews had broken -- the CNN survey shows President Obama would have taken 54 percent to Gingrich’s 41 percent. Among only men, that gap narrows to a six-percentage point difference: 49 percent for Obama and 43 percent to Gingrich.

But among women, it widens to 18 points: 58 percent for Obama and 40 percent for Gingrich.

May I suggest that you check the posting history of the zottee

I did check the histoy.

Saw nothing very objectionable there. Weird.

I certainly hope it's not just because the poster doesn't like Gingrich.

Newt a conservative? That is a laugh. He is a self described progressive republican and serial adulterer.

Vote for him at your own risk.

I am a realist and it looks like Newt will walk away with this now unless a stronger REAL conservative enters the race.

Obama will more than likely beat Newt. Newt has lots of baggage and the videos on youtube will sink him with true conservatives in the general election.

Newt’s second wife, Marianne, was ‘dating’ a married man when she met him.

Seems ‘home wrecking’ isn’t foreign to her.

Not saying Newt was a saint in this, but she’s on really shaky ground.

If women are dumb enough to stick with a guy that openly supports Islam, despite it being one of the most anti-feminist factions on the planet, then maybe we ought to look at the 19th Amendment again.

Maybe Churchill was right:

“If we allow women to vote it will mean the loss of social structure and the rise of every liberal cause under the sun. Women are well represented by their fathers, brothers and husbands.” 1910-Winston Churchill.

“... being cheated on can make some folks become very bitter and a bit unbalanced..”

For FOURTEEN years?! I will grant you that a man or woman may be ticked off for a while. Fourteen years is way too long to hold a grudge and try to ruin someone politically. Marianne was the initial “other woman” who is now upset that another “other woman” came along. If she is mentally unbalanced now, she’s been mentally unbalanced for a long time.

“She cheated with him on his first wife. Now she wants us to feel sorry for her?”

Over the years, I have seen this same thing happen to several female friends. They, of all people, should have been wary of the true moral character of the guys they married.

I was married to a Womanizer ... these mental illnesses start in childhood and they don’t just ‘go away’ because one finds a “Jackie Look Alike” [which Calista is definitely NOT with that weak chin line] or because one converts to a specific religion [to which I converted in 1992].

We do NOT need another Bill Clinton personality in the White House ... Newt is much worse than Bill ... at least Bill stayed married to Hillary ... and Newt sheds wives like snakes shed skin.

I’m kind of laughing at my post, evidently Bachmann has been setting off my radar for months, I don’t trust her as a person, at all.

I will be satisfied if she will just stay there as a Congressman and not hurt us, or mess in things that are beyond her limited abilities and instincts.

“Can someone set me straight..Newt has been married 3 times..this second wife was running around with Newt while he was still married to the first..am I correct? I am wondering how this woman has any high moral ground to stand on...sounds like what goes around comes around to me...she helped break up the first marriage...now her marriage is gone and wanting to ruin the man she cheated with in the first place..sour grapes??? Do I have this right?”

Yep.

I am a woman, and I am inclined to not believe the ex-wife’s story.

Don’t really think Newt is the right one. I am for Santorum. But I would vote for him if he’s the nominee.

In the end, the ABC hit piece and the idiot debate moderator’s asking of his stupid question may turn out to be a great gift to Newt’s candidacy. The husband and I were cheering along with the audience when John Whathisname got pwn3d by Gingrich.

Comparing a 13yr personal incident to a real-time Bill Clinton on the job sexual encounter, the sexual harassment suit against Clinton...all somehow being the same? You’re right, Neil is an ass

And during the impeachment 13 years ago Newt was having sex with a much younger staffer, which is sexual harassment according to the law. Maybe it is not a big deal to you when one of the most powerful men in the world is using his influence to get laid, but to many people it is a sign of a deeper character issue.

I realize how much you all detest Romney but it has made you blind to the facts. Newt has a character problem that will not only damage the country it will hurt the conservative movement for years to come.

What kind of woman is this ex-wife the media is using to go after Gingrich?

This was in 1995 when they were still married.
“In 1995, when Vanity Fair magazine asked Marianne what would happen if Newt ran for president, she boasted she could derail the bid with a single TV interview.
“He can’t do it without me,” she said. “I told him if I’m not in agreement, fine, it’s easy.
“I just go on the air the next day, and I undermine everything . . . I don’t want him to be president, and I don’t think he should be.”

This is from 1999 when they were divorcing
Documents related to the divorce filed Friday in Cobb County Superior Court include a separation agreement signed by the couple and notarized in December 1987. There is no indication it was ever filed.
Browning said Marianne Gingrich called her husband on his birthday in June 1987 to tell him she was leaving him. Gingrich, he said, came back to Georgia to find his home emptied out.
Browning said the pair maintained separate residences for six years before reconciling in late 1993 or early 1994.

And this is from gunnyg: https://gunnyg.wordpress.com/2012/01/19/marianne-gingrich-investigated-by-the-fbi-gingrich-fbi-documents/

According to FBI records, Marianne Gingrich attempted to make money by selling her influence to the highest bidder. The FBI concluded that Newt was unaware of Marianne’s actions. Following are excerpts from the FBI document:

“[Mrs. Gingrich] stated that her relationship with her husband was purely a relationship of convenience. She told the source that she needed her husband for economic reasons, and that he needed to keep her close because she knew of all his “skeletons.” Source stated that after requesting [Mrs.] Gingrich’s assistance in the above matter, she told him that her organization needed money. She also told source “It’s time for me to make money using my husband, and after we get started doing this, it will be easy.”

“Bennett stated that [Mrs.] Gingrich wanted for herself up front, in addition to the $550,000.00 that Bennett mentioned earlier, bringing the total up front payment to 1 million 50 thousand dollars.”

“…further logical investigation, including consensual monitoring, will be conducted to develop evidence of possible Hobbs Act, Conspiracy, and Bribery violations by BENNETT, ASH, MARIANNE GINGRICH, and as yet, unidentified federal officials.”

Newt has talked plenty of women out of their....”virtue” looking like well, Newt.

Ya know, I'm a woman, and I will be supporting Newt, but I sure as heck don't see him as a sex symbol. He's not that good-looking, he's pudgy and out of shape. Maybe it was the power of his office?

His voting record contradicts your claim that he’s a progressive. He is a serial adulterer though. I’ll concede that.

There’s no other conservative to vote for. Will not vote for Romney and Santoum and Paul are going nowhere.
