Newt Gingrich’s woman problem [I push leftist propaganda on FR and all I got was this zot]
Washington Post ^ | 01/20/2012 | Felicia Sonmez

How will the details revealed by Marianne Gingrich regarding her former husband’s personal life – and Newt Gingrich’s defiant response – play out among the GOP presidential primary electorate?

But it’s worth keeping in mind that even before Marianne Gingrich went public, Newt Gingrich was already facing tough odds when it comes to his support among women nationally — a factor that underscores the argument made by his GOP rivals against his electability in the fall.

There typically tends to be a gender gap in presidential general elections, as women vote more Democratic than men.

But a CNN/Time/Opinion Research survey conducted Jan. 11-12 showed that among national adults, Gingrich faces the biggest gender gap of all the GOP contenders.

If the general election had been held in mid-January – before news of the Marianne Gingrich interviews had broken -- the CNN survey shows President Obama would have taken 54 percent to Gingrich’s 41 percent. Among only men, that gap narrows to a six-percentage point difference: 49 percent for Obama and 43 percent to Gingrich.

But among women, it widens to 18 points: 58 percent for Obama and 40 percent for Gingrich.

If Obama picks Hillary as his VP

Were toast no matter who the Republicans put up. Thank God Obama is too stupid to do such a thing. I know the 300,000 people on Free Republic hate her and thing she does a horrible job but I think most of America admires her for whatever weird reason. Hillary needs to stay far away from the top 2 person ticket of Obama. It is good for the Republicans and America that she stays as Secretary of State. Of course, after the election of our Republican candidate, she will be shown the door.

I saw Neil as well. I have to disagree with him on this one. I think Newt just rewrote the book on handling the MSM. We’ll see how it turns out, but I have a feeling it will turn out well. I don’t like liberals controlling the message. Every moment spent on the wrong topics is a moment not spent on the right topics ... Have you notice there is little foreign policy, military and serious debt discussion in the debates so far?

I could have told you this would be a problem a year ago when Callista and Newt started revving up for President.

I don't believe Newt is qualified because of his unsteady character.

Yes, that definitely involves his inability to remain faithful to one woman but also because of his past positions on global warming, health mandates, immigration and his lackluster performance during the impeachment hearings after which he got a no-confidence vote among his colleagues.

But he can SPEAK!/sarc.

(Now, isn't that what they said about Obama?)

On the other hand, this tale- telling ex-wife may have completely neutralized the issue for Newt. She clearly did this out of venomish spite, with no concern, even, for herself. And I wonder I am suspicious of her version.

>>Thank God Obama is too stupid to do such a thing.

Actually, Hillary as VP isn’t a total disaster.

1) Obama wins election. GOP takes Senate and keeps the House.
2) A new case of mysterious Arkancide occurs.
3) Pres Hillary leads as a lame-duck leftist, but at least she’s a leftist who doesn’t publicly hate America and Americans.

This country has a woman problem when it comes to voting. Emotionalism trumps logic as a painful generality when it comes to women and their voting habits. Much the same however is the pattern of regret the morning after voting with their finger or humping with their lady bits.

It is extremely rare that I ever jump on the computer to send an email to a Fox anchor....until I heard that BS being spewed from Neil. What the hell has got into him? Comparing a 13yr personal incident to a real-time Bill Clinton on the job sexual encounter, the sexual harassment suit against Clinton...all somehow being the same? You’re right, Neil is an ass

Newt has talked plenty of women out of their....”virtue” looking like well, Newt.

I’m sure he can come up with something to talk them out of their vote.

I don’t mean to imply that Newt is a saint, but I think that how the media is characterizing him is incorrect. (They did the same to Cain). If you are implying that women do not possess the faculties to see that, then, I don’t know where else to go with that. The truth is the media endeavors to paint two dimensional caricatures of Republican candidates in a deliberate attempt to destroy them. If this is where the battle lines are drawn, then so be it. Playing the moderate nice guy like Bush I and Dole and McCain and Romney hasn’t exactly been the winning ticket.

I’m finding the same thing in my family, surprisingly. I really though this would hurt him. It’s had the exact opposite effect.

Basically, they think Marianne is a bitter b*tch. And they love the way Newt defends himself.

You're right. There was very almost nothing but a little remarks off topic by Ron Paul. CNN is in the tank for King Obama and these topics would show just what Obama is all about. Newt Gingrich is the only answer for President. He, being one of the best conservative Speakers, know the inside way to move us back to a Constitutional Government. (I'm so damn upset at Neil I hope I made sense)

Every time I hear that argument I hear the subtext that women are MSM-led lambs with no minds of their own. And sometimes it’s made by liberal women who would be highly offended if anyone but themselves said so. Personally I say hold the election and let the chips fall where they may. Sometimes you just have to have faith in your fellow citizens. They might surprise you.
