Maybe the race is getting too close. If the negative ads have hurt Romney, maybe he’s worried about some of the Mass. Moderates jumping to Jon. Things might be tightening up.

Can’t imagine a conservative being impressed by McCain’s endorsement or Huntsman endorsement. Hopefully, this will hurt Romney in the south

Daddy got tired of writing checks for John Jr.’s little adventure. Time to go earn a living.

I'm surprised by this, but glad he did the dignified thing. His internal polling must have been terrible, and he likely saved himself a real embarrassment in South Carolina.

I wish they would come together. I am praying a lot.

Jon Huntsman to withdraw from GOP race How will we tell the difference?
To: Perdogg
I liked Huntsman better than Romney. At least Huntsman was openly moderate.
And in fact he was a conservative Governor in SOME respects....perhaps, then, he was beleivable? At least as compared to Romney.
In any event. He was never a factor.
Romney may run the gauntlet here, if he wins SC.....sigh

Huntsman didn’t get much bounce off his third in NH, in the way Santorum got a bounce off his tied for first IA finish, so the game is over for him. He had to be hoping he would vault past some other candidates but he languishes, competing with Perry for last place. I imagine the party offered him something to get out and help Big Money Mitt.

The problem is/was that Daddy was giving $$ to Romney not Jon Jr.
Sounds like Jon Jr got tired of the game.

This is a good thing because it’s just 1 less distraction from the race. Now if Perry, Santorum would get out

Santorum beat newt in Iowa, tied Newt for 4th in N.H. and according to the latest poll leads New in S.C. I prefer Newt over Santorum but if the idea is to beat Romney it looks so far like Santorum is the better horse. I would think whoever comes in second in S.C. would be one to support. And by second I mean a strong second, not a close second.
