John Edwards has a life-threatening heart condition that requires surgery and his trial has been delayed, according to reports Friday.

Yea, the condition is he doesn't have one.
“If I were a doctor, I would not want to treat him out of fear for a malpractice suit...”
There you go!!!
The only malady that would worry this POS would be erectile dysfunction.
He probably has some cushy insurance plan garnered from showing up for his senate job 21% of the time.
I know I am tough on women and Edwards was a weakling of a man, but he got caught in an affair and certainly an un-planned pregnancy.
The rest of the story is of what was seen publically by Elizabeth, as the supportive and sympathetic wife who, of all things, suffered and lived in a terminal condition for which she received undying and sincere sympathy from the public.
Because Edwards was a weakling, there was plenty to be read of evidence that he was emotionally abused, and maybe used, by a demanding, power hungry Elizabeth, both in private and in the presence of others, and who himself finally cracked. If that should be true, he at least has never distorted her better image, as the saintly, harmed wife, but kept her best image entirely intact probably for the sake of the children.
Already destroyed, John Edwards has suffered immeasurably and perhaps as much as Elizabeth, and if he has a conscience, probably more so. What an awful saga, all the way around.
I find it curious that the same conservative website (FR) that poured forth prayers and good wishes for Bill Clinton when he had his heart attack and went under the knife, has thus far, been unable to generate any such sentiments for John Edwards.
Christ said we have to hate the sin, and love the sinner.
So I’m going to pray for him.
If it were me, would it matter.
I can't work!
Why not?
I have a weak back!
How long have you had it?
Oh, about a week back.
I think of the movie Casino with all of the mob bosses hooked up to oxygen tanks at their trials.
What doctor in his right mind would operate on that ambulance chasing POS. He will sue him 5 days after he gets out of the hospital, unless he goes out in the black wagon.
When a heart cath revealed the need for bypass surgery for my husband, the surgery was scheduled for the next morning, not a month later.
He was hospitalized for five days after the surgery, and it was a month before he was permitted to return to work for four hours a day.
By the time they get Edwards back on the docket, it will be summer. But that could play to the Republican’s advantage with such a trial in the news prior to the election, so the later in the summer, the better.
What you say is true, but I smell a rat here, and I’m reserving judgement until a real diagnosis is given and he is given a hard date for the OR.
Edwards’ story sounds way too convenient: just before he heads off to a CRIMINAL trial he develops a “condition”. I’m waiting for more details, if you please.
I’ve had two triple-bypass surgeries. Both times I had the angiogram and both times they did the operation the next day, in 1983 and 2008. We’re not in the UK YET!
Oh yes. SO life threatening that they are supposedly doing surgery NEXT MONTH.
For open heart valve surgery, go home in four days if all goes well. Six weeks to drive. Two to three weeks to go back to work if you don’t have to drive.
Seems to me his wife was seriously ill with cancer, yet her trials with a philandering husband were not delayed. Boo-hoo-hoo.
Is it really that hard to figure out? Maybe the people don't believe the "life-threatening" part. It's just a tad bit too convenient for Mr. Edwards. bill clinton's condition was well-documented.
