“I still contend they are not the overriding factor.”

Big Tactical Mistake. Which not many truly understand. Evidence: McCain vs Obama ‘08.

“We can’t WIN with a true conservative.”

Nonsense.

“That’s the point. No informed public. Anyone who thought Dole and McCain had the charisma to beat Clinton & Obama, were sadly out of touch. Presidential elections are not about politics. They’re about winning over the stupids and the uniformeds in the american voting public who will go with who makes them feel good.”

That’s true to an extent. However, given 0’s abysmal job performance, and the tremendous problems faced by America, this is our best chance in recent history to get a real conservative elected. Personally I wish Sarah Palin had stuck with it, but Rick Santorum is largely cut from the same cloth. I hope he starts to get a little more fired up when he speaks, that would help a lot.

At any rate, remember when Reagan was elected - it was to keep Carter from getting a second term. Landslide time.

By the way, nobody thought Reagan could win then, either.

I agree with you. Toesucker is hoping to cash in on Willard’s rise to power, so that he can sell more books. Bloodying Santorum would fit in nicely.

I believe differently and she wasn't in it to win. She basically has no resume. She was in it as a buffer for Mitt - career enhancer. Running w/romneycare around his neck he needed protection.

I had no dog in the race - I watched the debates with open eyes because I wanted to see the impostor/mitt be taken out. So it was quite obvious to me her actions against those who tried and lack of action on her own behalf.

Why do you think she said she was a serious candidate? Because those on the panels knew her deal and what she was there for - she heard the talk behind the scenes - that is why she included mitt in her comments about newt to counteract the 'talk' - weak weak! She's a user who doesn't mind being used for political gain. When someone is an 'I' 'I' 'I' candidate like she is/was - she has an ego that needs to be fed and mitt, et al - RINO establishment - is/was more than happy to feed it.

With her mouth and supposedly conservative values - she should have been attacking mitt from day one and never let up along w/the others - but she attacked them or cut them off when they went after mitt. Where is mitt now - in the lead - pathetic! America is losing, again, to another conman.

In previous debates, we saw a cranky Rick Santorum, which is not good. His frustrated demeanor was probably justified as he was so marginalized by the MSM and debate moderators, but I know it turned me off at the time. If Rick can be affable as he was in his speech last night, then he will continue to attract voters. And, if Newt becomes the pitbull against Mitt, then Rick is in a good spot to remain positive, inspirational and draw a stark contrast between Obama and himself.

Perry should be in and mitt out. Mitt did squat for America - it’s all about him and how he can back$tab and deceive others.

Well in a fair world that might happen, but unfortunately Mitt had enough zombies last night to fight another day.

"She was in it as a buffer for Mitt.."

It will become apparent shortly that you completely wasted 30 minutes typing that tinfoil baloney when Bachmann does not endorse the oven Mitt.

If you want to put your foot in your mouth, it's best if you do it with a few seconds left to run away and hide before people can take a picture of it...

I had no candidate and it made it much more interesting watching them and not giving a flip who failed or not. My ONLY concern was to see who was going to be successful in kicking mitt to the curb. I watched those who tried and I watched those who interfered with those who tried and I watched those who never tried. Politics in action. I learned more who I would trust just by doing that than what they said. Rhetoric is just to pull you in - you get caught up in it, you get blinded.

Kind of a shame - I think she would have done the right things for America...

That was my reaction. Bachmann has an excellent record on immigration. Such a shame the MSM marginalized her as 'dumb', 'shrill', 'b*tch'.

“Who outside of AZ has much respect for McPain?”

The McPain endorsement is probably aimed at the retired folks in SC and FL. This is not the Old South anymore. Tons of seniors and working folks from all over the country that Slick Willard will be trying to woo.

I think that Bachmann and Perry leaving the race now really hurts Mittens. He needs the many splits in the conservative vote to win states like SC, FL, etc. Supporters of Bachmann or Perry will likely support Santorum or Newt, not Mittens.
Only Huntsman supporters will break for Mittens.

According to her both Gingrich and Santorum are Kryptonite. Her best choice is to endorse no one.

I have lingering doubt about her, though, that enables me to believe she just might endorse Romney. If she does it will confirm my worst fears about her purpose in this primary race.

Any candidate will, of course, use the “viability, organization, electability” excuse to hide behind.

Wrong wrong wrong. Focus please. We need to defeat Obama.

Keep saying ti loud and often. That has to be our only focus. The Lame stream Media will do its best to destroy whoever the GOP candidate is.

No one said she will endorse him now - her work is basically done! You see her differently that I do because you went into the debate cheering for her. I didn’t. Not for anyone - she had the opportunity to convince me and she failed miserably! And the 5% I had no part of - so others must feel the same.

“By the way, nobody thought Reagan could win then, either.”

I did. But not because of any conservatism, per say. He was an engaging, attractive, charismatic, articulate male, in combination with being right on the issues. In reality, the issues were secondary then, and they are now. We are dealing with a voting public that by and large is uninformed and HATES POLITICS. They want to live their lives and just hope that they get someone good in there, without doing any of the issues analysis, which is done here. This forum is not representative of the real voting public. Wish it were but it’s not.

"Only Huntsman supporters will break for Mittens."

Let me rephrase that for you:
"Huntsman's only supporter will break for Mittens."

Bachmann absolutely will endores Romney—100% sure.

But, she’ll wait until after Mitt get’s bloodied in the NH & SC primaries, and starts to get a little desperate. At that point she can TRADE her endorsement for say...the VP slot on the ticket.

There’s a reason Bachmann NEVER went after Romney in the debates (heck, she even bailed him out big time in the LV debate). She knows her path to bigger things is on the VP slot, then onwards and upwards.
