Congratulations, Rick Santorum!!

Too early to know if he's going to be first or second in Iowa, but either way he deserves our congratulations!! He gives us hope that a decent, consistent, pro-life, pro-family, Christian conservative patriot can win this primary race and then go on to defeat Obama! Congratulations also to Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann. You have all fought a great battle to this point.

We can be encouraged that over 50% of the Iowa electorate have totally rejected both the flip-flopping abortionist/socialist Mitt Romney and the deranged Ron Paul.

Will be interesting to see if this trend continues on through New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida. I think by then we'll be able to clearly identify which pro-life conservative we should coalesce behind to defeat Romney!

Good luck in the race ahead. May the very best pro-life, pro-family, small government, big defense conservative be our candidate! Will be wonderful to have a candidate we can enthusiastically support for a change.

Game on!!

Amen. He's infinitely better than the abortion loving, gun grabbing socialist Mitt.

Romney's so-called inevitability my foot -- take that GOP establishment & liberal media!

Its Santorum by 5 votes. Now, thats a photo-finish if I ever saw one.

I’m happy. I’ve been saying, my favorite three were Bachmann, Santorum, and Gingrich. Until the other day it looked like Santorum was stuck running neck and neck with Cain who had already dropped out of the race. To see him emerge victorious is really exciting (and is a reminder that media polls are nearly worthless).

I am proud of the Repub line-up. Even our worst are giants next to the Dems and our best are very good indeed. Rick is a very decent man, and if its him I’ll be proud to pull the lever for him.

(Does that reveal my age? I remember pulling levers to cast my vote...)

With 99+% in, Santorum is up by some. Congrats to Santorum indeed. Now no more splitting up the conservative vote four ways. Perry and Michele need to get out and endorse Wednesday!

This was a good night. I would say that many of Ron Paul voters were cross-over Democrats so much more than 50% of Iowa Republicans rejected Romney.

The race now moves into my backyard as I live on the wrong side of the NH/MA border. I hope to see Newt and Santorum come barnstorming up here to take some additional wind out of Romney's sails. For if Romney does not get a solid win up here next week, he is likely finished.

Amen, Jim! Romney is mired at the same level he was in 2008 after spending millions of dollars and campaigning for three years. The answer is obvious--the GOP base doesn't want him.

I agree that the next few weeks will see a shaking out process, but if Senator Santorum is the guy we need to rally around, I'm good with it. Similarly, I'm fine rallying around Gingrich, Perry, or Bachmann if they prove to be the candidate. But we've got to keep our eyes on the main goals:

#1: Defeat Romney.

#2: Defeat Obama.

(Yes, I am ignoring Ron Paul).

Congratulations, Senator Santorum!

Yes, congratulations, Rick Santorum! Will send you some money tomorrow, and I doubt I am alone! Loved your speech. Count me as a Jew for Santorum! Kick some butt in NH and SC! Let’s roll!

Congratulations indeed!

I have been a Santorum supporter from the beginning. But I want to also acknowledge those who supported some of the other candidates. In the heat of battle, differences between the candidates are emphasized. From a more relaxed vantage point, however, I’m extremely glad that we have people like Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, and Newt Gingrich on our side. I hope that we can pull together to turn around this handbasket before it gets to the cesspool at the bottom of the slippery slope.

I have to get up for work in a little over two hours. (Sigh) But it has been a good night.

I was feeling pretty apathetic about this race due to all the windbags we have running, but I am actually now really fired up with the santorum win!

Its still super early to tell what will happen by the end of this year, but all we can do is pray that God's will be done!

may God be with santorum and his family!

As a deranged Ron Paul-inclined type, I am not at all dissappointed here. Let us keep praying for, working for, and voting for good, strong, peacable, efficient, smaller government in our midst.
