He has been mentioned but every time he is the gist of opinion is its too early for that(Bush) “name” to be raised yet.

If Romney got the nomination you can bet the DNC has ads showing why Romneycare is worse than Obamacare. MA hated Romney when he decided not to run again.

Happy New Year

You certainly are doing an outstanding job of parroting the anti-Republican spin from the legacy media

Just seeing what my lying eyes tell me -- and it isn't pretty.

But, if I can spin it at this point, just imagine what the MSM and Dems will do once the nominee is determined.

I assume, from your comment, that you would rather look at the field of GOP contenders through rose-colored glasses, so as not to see any flaws or potential problems.

Of course, that is the Dem strategy, i.e., to focus on the Rep candidate and not on Obama and his record and policies.

Key to this election!! If we can expose this at every opportunity it will ruin their parade.

Thanks MM, for that.

Those polls seem so askew, they can’t possibly be accurate. They are paid to sway public opinion. The internals are likely much more accurate.

I don’t see Romney getting 1/4 of that Iowa vote no more than I see Ron Paul coming in second. I too suspect Romney’s not showing all that well.

I’d be okay with Perry and do hope he zooms ahead. I’d be okay with Santorum and also Bachman, frankly.

My choice for now is Newt but I’ll not bore with why. Y’all can read about, here.

Not an Endorsement but a Good Case for Newt
http://patfish.blogspot.com/2011/12/thinking-about-newt-and-other-political.html

But it’s no mind....save I really, really don’t want Romney, please please don’t let it be Robo-Romney.

The rest can be set straight if need be.

kabar: "Romney has extensive executive experience in the public and private sectors plus impressive academic credentials.""

Untrue. You are at FR and are now on open double probation.

Here are the facts from CATO.

MITT ROMNEY - THE PROVEN BAD GOVERNOR

"As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal."

I don’t hear the dems going after Mitt much — that tells us everything. Unlike with Newt they screamed that if he is the nominee Obama is assured a second term — their attempt at reverse psychology. It’s no secret they’re scared to death of Newt. Dear God, I hope and pray pastors all across Iowa preach some sense into Iowans and they vote for Newt. Whatever the case, no Mittens.

I don’t see us losing the House rather picking up more gains. But I do see us picking up the Senate. How many we will get will be the only remaining question. Potus should be ours to lose. Tell me when we have had a worse President and than tell me also that you can fool voters forever.

Wow. How weak is the GOP field?

It's the media polling that lacks the Conservative and TEA Party folks who are actually going to cast ballots come Hades or high water.

Rush gushed for 3 days when Gingrich rose to #1 in the polls. A week later he spend another hour gushing over Gingrich's performance at the GOP debate.

One probably doesn't even have to read between the lines. :)

I would be okay with Newt if only because I think he would be an effective candidate and if we elect enough conservatives to congress to hold his feet to the fire, he would be an okay president.

I would be less okay with Santorum or Bachmann as I don’t see them running good campaigns against Obama.

Ron Paul is not worth discussing, his crazy little following aside.

I keep forgetting Huntsman is running.

“The Rush Limbaugh Show” 12/14/2011

Rush commenting about Newt Gingrich PRAISING the COMMUNIST SEIU union leader Andy Stern in one of his books:

“Maybe disintegrating or deteriorating is the wrong term to describe what's happening, but both these guys, ROMNEY and NEWT are being flushed out in the course of the campaign here. It's why I said yesterday, SANTORUM, BACHMAN, PERRY are all out there, and a lot of people are hoping that one of THEM, second chance, catches fire.
It was the same book where Newt said that FDR was one of the greatest American presidents!”

Rush got an email from the Newt campaign OF COURSE saying it was a mistake and Rush said later he wasn't trying to rip on Newt but the stuff was “out there.”

I never heard Rush ever jump ugly like that on Bachman Santorum or Perry.
He may have come close with Perry over his “heartless” and “racist” inferences about those who want to enforce immigration laws.

Come on Tom!

You must recall me tagging Newt as 80/20 for several years now.

We passed on all the 100% candidates since there are none.

We know that Newt is a genius and will come up with brilliant ideas on the economy, energy, foreign policy and you name it!

We also know that we will have to deal with pictures of him sitting with piglosi and shaking hands with bubba. It's just who he is.!

All we can do is keep the fires lit where he sits and hope he gets it right more than not. He's still a lot better than Rhomneeeeey!

Yep. The 2012 election has to be a referendum on Obama and his policies and record. Do we want four more years of the same? Can we survive four more years of the same?

I have seen too many bandwagons and nominees crash and burn. Politics is a delicate game. One has to walk on eggshells while being able to slaughter the opposition kindly.

I would rather be a spectator than be a participant. That way, I can throw eggs at all of them. Where else are they gonna get the eggshells they need to tread lightly on?

:)
