In an editorial meeting in early November with the Des Moines Register, which endorsed him for the Iowa caucuses pending on Jan. 3, Romney was asked, “How do you feel about gays serving openly in the military?”
Romney said, “That’s already occurred. I’m not planning on reversing that at this stage.”
The reporter followed up, “But you’re comfortable with it?”

You seem to have a reading comprehension problem as well as confusing gay marriage with gays serving openly in the military. I said that the gay marriage issue was a far better one for Reps to pursue in terms of political advantage. Right now the public supports the repeal of DADT, but they still support the definition of marriage as betweeen a man and a woman.

I have put my life on the line for this country in many different cirumstances, including in war. I don't need you or anyone else lecturing me about patriotism and what any red blooded American wants. I disagree with you about making the repeal of DADT a major issue in the Presidential campaign. It is a loser and counterproductive if our objective is to defeat Obama.

Apparently some of the other guys were hearing it too, because one night a buddy of his, in a stage whisper, came up with "Oh, Robert...DON'T, Robert, DON'T." (Coincidentally, the "Jimmy" whispering stopped after that night.)

Did you read my post #84? Attitudes on gays have changed radically in this country. It is a reflection of decades of indoctrination by our educational institutions and the MSM. I am 68 and can attest to these changes. I believe that these changes undermine the family and our culture in general. How do we stop it is a whole different kettle of fish. My point is that making this a high profile issue is not a winning strategy. Gay marriage is a different matter. The majority is still on our side defining marriage as between a man and a woman.
LOL. My uh...ex hubby used to tell me about the gay ones when he was in boot camp at Fort Knox. Me and my girlfriend used to visit or husbands on weekends in our hotpants. One night we goofy broads accidently drove onto the firing range and the MPs escorted us out. Okay, I was only 19. LOL
