CNSNews.com) Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, says he has no plans to reverse the Obama administrations repeal of the ban on homosexuals serving in the U.S. military
In an editorial meeting in early November with the Des Moines Register, which endorsed him for the Iowa caucuses pending on Jan. 3, Romney was asked, How do you feel about gays serving openly in the military?
Romney said, Thats already occurred. Im not planning on reversing that at this stage.
The reporter followed up, But youre comfortable with it?

I think indylindy might play for the other team, just sayin’.
Romney demonstrates his leadership skills again.
Winston Churchill said: If the past sits in judgment on the present, the future will be lost.
I believe that these changes undermine the family and our culture in general. How do we stop it is a whole different kettle of fish. My point is that making this a high profile issue is not a winning strategy. Gay marriage is a different matter. The majority is still on our side defining marriage as between a man and a woman.
Romney is either too arrogant or lazy to even PRETEND to be a conservative in the primary. At least have enough respect to lie to us.
You seem inspired enough to post on this thread . It amazes me this non-issue seems to get so much attention from the likes of people like you. Disgusting. So you voting for Mitt if he gets the nod?
If you are right, the answer is Perry?
Reading the posts here I was starting to wonder whether it was a winning issue. One thing: a candidate who shows solid convictions gains trust from all. Opposition to gays in the military is at the very minimum an understandable sentiment.
ObamaCare has also already passed, I guess thats settled too.
Wow this guy is insane.
There’s no one on the GOP ticket worth my vote. They’re shoving another 2008 down our throats.
But, I agree that I have about had it with the fascination with perversion.
That’s a plus for Newt then.
...Seaman...???
In other words, you are one of the mindless cheerleaders who tries to smear others as soon as your candidate is criticized. No one needs to “lie” (you don’t even have a working grasp of the word) about Newt. He is straddling many fences so that he can appear more conservative than he is. As I said, if a “review”, which is another way of saying “I’m putting off betraying social conservatives until after the election”, satisfies you, then he is your man.
Newt could easily have said that he will push for repeal - it doesn’t take further “review”.
More delinquency legislation. I wish Romney’s house to become a homo whorehouse the way he is turning America into it.
You get caught in a lie and then accuse me of smearing you? I ask you again, simply provide proof of your accusation that, like Romney, Newt would be Sodomite friendly? Everything I read says otherwise. Enlighten me.
Polls suck. No one ever calls me and asks me anything.
Second, it’s what the military wants that counts, and they didn’t want mentally ill sex perverts amongst them, overwhelmingly.
Plus the experts don’t want mentally ill sex perverts amongs them. Only leftists, RINOs and perverts want mentally ill sex perverts in the military.

The Dems want to make this a major issue. It helps them with their base and independents. I will vote for anyone but Obama. Four more years of Obama will put the final nail in the coffin of this country. We will never recover.
When I served there was a ban on homosexuals in the military. DADT started down the road to gays serving openly in the military. Attitudes have changed—a product of our educationals system and the MSM. Those are just facts. Adm Mullen supported it wholeheartedly.
Not a lot of seaman coming out of that relationship (no pun intended). Incidentally, that’s one reason I could never have been in the navy. Just the thought of being called a seaman..... not good
I said Newt is sodomite friendly in the context of saying that he is unlikely to repeal the repeal of DADT. Is English your first language?
As for what you have read, do you understand that all Newt has said he would do is have a “review” of the policy. If he really were serious, he wouldn’t call for a “review”. There is nothing to review.
Do you understand the difference between saying he would call for a “review” and saying that he would repeal the repeal of DADT? Perhaps this will help: In politician speak, “review” means “I’m not going to do anything, but if it makes you rubes feel better, I’ll say I’ll have it reviewed”.
Perhaps he really will have it reviewed - the next time he is sitting on the sofa with Pelosi.
