Palin, Jeb Bush, mulling presidential options? (Jeb being approach by key people)
American Thinker ^ | Tuesday December 20, 2011 | Rick Moran

Could a candidate with excellent name recognition and the ability to raise millions almost immediately still have a shot if they entered the race today?

Sarah Palin thinks so. And Jeb Bush is going to be visited by some very powerful party insiders and asked - again - to reconsider his decision not to run for president.

In an interview with Fox Business News, Palin refused to shut the door while saying that it wasn't too late to jump in:

Any chance we can see you making a play, even after Iowa or New Hampshire?" Bolling asked. "There's still plenty of time, Governor."

"You know, it's not too late for folks to jump in," Palin replied. "And I don't know, you know, it - who knows what will happen in the future?"

As for Jeb Bush, he has not encouraged the latest round of speculation, but his Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal - almost a campaign style economic piece - that a lot of conservatives saw as a strong defense of capitalism has people asking why he can't still make a run:

I’ll give her this much: She’s proven P.T. Barnum to be far more correct than I ever would have guessed.

"For God's sake," they hissed in Jeb's ear, desperately.

"We hear Sarah may consider running after all!"

"Romney never took off, Paul's a nut, and Gingrich is considering selling out to hoi polloi as a benevolent overlord : and after all we've done for, and to, him."

"You just can't get good helpless these days."

Cheers!

Proportional delegates will only help those with money in this race.

Meh. If the right person jumps in, the money is right there waiting.

I don't know if it will happen or not, but your 'there is no historical precedent' argument is bunk. There is no historic precedent for anything that's going on in this race period. Therefore, pretty much anything can happen.

Filing dedlines can be changed. Why, the filing dedlines in the largest state in the lower 48 closed in December, then suddenly filing was re-opened, allowing candidates to file on into February, and the primary date of March 6 was moved into April. Just like that!

So, what’s the problem?

I'm sure Jeb's a nice guy 'n all that, but please ... not another Bush.

Didn't like or trust his Daddy, held my nose and voted for his brother in 2000. My deep respect for G.W. Bush is purely due to his taking the fight to the terrorists in the wake of the Sept. 11th, 2001 attacks.

I just don't believe in political dynasties in this country. Don't care if the name is Kennedy or Bush. The highest political office in this country simply cannot be treated like a family heirloom.

It's bad enough some in Congress feel that their seats are (family heirlooms.)

I would vote for Jeb, I’m just not sure the nation is willing to elect another Bush at this point.

I didn’t say perfect, my context is the Kenyan marxist who is illegally occupying the presidency today.

"As Governor of Florida, Jeb stood idly by while a woman was starved to death on the say-so of her husband."

He didn't just stand idly by, HE created the legislation that allowed it. He is NOT a good man - if he was, he would not have made withholding food and water from "vegatative" patients law. Also, he could have gone to see her at any time - he WAS governor of the state!

I do not recall Jeb Bush ever holding Tea Party values or ever speaking of smaller Government.

Gov Palin on the other hand is the entire package.

I would have zero problem with her even running as a third party candidate.

I still think outside chance that a serious challenge from the left could be made against Obama.

I don’t think Palin could ever get any higher in polls or electability as Bachmann or Santorum. How could Jeb or Palinget on any state ballots? This is all insane.
