After a breezy time on the corner for the Olney Freep, several FReepers spent an hour or so at the Olney Compound before heading out to Lurker Bills for the DC Chapters Christmas Party. This is our 2nd year at Lurker Bills and we THANK HIM and PAULA, his wife, for their hospitality.
BELOW LEFT: Our hostess, Mrs. Lurker Bill - aka Paula, pulling the winning ticket for the flag with certificate that was flown over the old Walter Reed hospital on its last day (Sept. 15,2011) under Army command. BELOW RIGHT: Our host, Lurker Bill, unwrapping his White Elephant Gift. Only a few gifts were stolen. Note, Lurker Bill is a REAL lurker, he does not have a FR screen name.
BELOW: iMacMan, our photographer for the day.
BELOW LEFT: Picture of certificate (left) for flag flown over Iraq in a Navy EA-6B Prowler on August 06,2010 by the Electronic Attack Squadron 209 and presented the DC Chapter by the Aleethia Foundation at Walter Reed on Friday night, Nov.12,2010 . The flag has stitched stripes and embroidered stars. The flag and certificate on the left is the one that was flown over Walter Reed on Sept. 15,2011. BELOW RIGHT: There was also a 2nd prize. Cindy_True_Supporter (Post party picture - No DC Chapter event would be complete without a picture of her) obtained a 15"x24" print of the history of Walter Reed in pictures that the artist signed. The winner of this prize was Exit148.
BELOW LEFT: The WINNER of the Walter Reed flag was also Exit148 and hubby, Jim. They graciously donated it back so a more local DC Chapter FReeper could have the honor of having the flag. We took a picture of her & Jim before they gave up the flag. THANK YOU both for your thoughtfulness. BELOW RIGHT: The new winners of the flag was Lurker Bryan and wife, Lurker Terry. They became regulars at Walter Reed this past winter. The first 3-4 Fridays that were there, it seemed that it was raining. It got to be that if it was not going to rain, they were absent, rainy and they were there.
Before I forget, RongKirby (no picture), Lurkers Bryan & Terry, and their aunt, Becky (BELOW) , were at Arlington Cemetery this morning laying wreaths at the graves of our fallen heroes. They helped put out 100,000 wreaths.
BELOW LEFT: Sauropod and BufordP BELOW RIGHT: The Wifes Club: [Mrs] BufordP, [Mrs] iMacMan and [Mrs] Kburi, lurkers all.
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaire Glenn (USMC - Iwo Jima), Tolerance Sucks Rocks and Fraxinus BELOW RIGHT: Tolerance Sucks Rocks, GunsAreOK and Lurker Terry
BELOW LEFT: Legionnaire Carl (Army - Vietnam) so not enjoying the Army-Navy Game. BELOW RIGHT: Everyone is here.
BELOW: Time for dinner - after grace by Lurker Bill
BELOW: White Elephant Time
BELOW: Of course no gathering of the DC Chapter is complete until we have our meeting.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL and ESPECIALLY OUR BRAVE MILITARY. They did not falter, they did not fail.

Wonderful report, trooprally!
The only time I wish (for a short) moment that I lived in DC again is when I read the reports you give. I can’t believe Walter Reed has been shut down, though!
Otherwise, I’m loving being back in Texas—which is where I know I belong.
Thanks to all of you for being there for all of us!
Merry Christmas!
Mari
Yep, and you are missed by us, especially the FReepers around for the Clinton and Gore FReeps.
Forgot to mention, there were 27 FReepers and lurkers, and two legionnaires at the party.
[Mr] T
What a great job on the AAR.
(Mrs)T
Merry Christmas to you and ALL of the fantastic patriots in the D.C. Chapter! Thanks to each and every one of you for all you do in support of our military and their families. May God bless and protect all of you.
Nice crowd~~
So nice to relive that wonderful party thru those great pictures! There is something really unique being with a group of Freepers. Some may be people you have never met. Strangers who are just like old FRiends!
And NOW I know why I couldn’t FReepmail Lurker Bill! I kept getting “no one by that name” no matter how I spelled it! He really IS a lurker! (Thanks Bill. You and Paula were gratious hosts, and went above and beyond!)
Hi basil, my FRiend!
sounds like an absolutely wonderful time. Great pix from the “cameraman”... Thanks for the ping. Sure wish I could have been with you this year. Life remains complicated & travel will be rather rare in near future. Merry Christmas to all the fine patriots who read this!!!
Sorry to hear that it will be hard to make it to DC. Your presence here always is a joy. I still remember the FReep against Westboro at Bethesda Naval hospital.
Enjoy the holidays.
[Mr] T
From the DC Chapter, you are welcome, and thank you for the blessings.
[Mr] T
I emailed the AAR link to L. Bill and Paula so they will see your Thank You.
[Mr] T
Wow! So many “new” faces! Good to see GunsROkay, Exit 148, Sauropd and Hellinahandcart. I know BufordP had to be there somewhere! Merry Christmas, DC Chapter!
Merry Christmas to you also rabid ralph!
HHC’s husband.
I knew I was missing a great party. Thanks for the report!
That was a great picture of Cindy and I have saved it!
Merry Christmas to all you DC FReepers!
Yes, I remember you, HHC! I met you briefly, before I skipped town. I hope all is well and that you and Mr. S are enjoying life together! I miss you all!
Was that the FReep where we stood with the bikers? (Altho they had to leave their bikes across the street.)
Hi RabidRalph! Long time no see!
Yep, we have some new faces. Some of the “old FReepers” have move out of the area, as you have, some have health problems, some are dedicated to their local Tea Party, and some have kids that have grown older and need their attention to drive to soccer games, etc. Of course they, you, are still working towards a better America, just not so much in the streets.
The “newbies” are just as dedicated and will be around for some time.
And then there are the “hanger on’s” - Buford, Guns, HHC, Sauropod, .......
[Mr] T
Shame you couldn’t get up here a little earlier. But we will be seeing you over the holidays. Have a safe trip.
[Mr] T
Thanks for the report. Was Sauropod wearing that T-shirt as a protest to the cop killer getting off death row? Tom the Red Hunter will be lost in that T-shirt.
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year as well.
