The last debate before the January 3rd Iowa caucuses is being held tonight in Sioux City.
We get seven candidates at this debate: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman.
Fox's Bret Baier anchors the debate. Fox News panelists questioning the candidates: Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Neil Cavuto.
Yikes. I didn't hear Jaun Williams.
I quit listening after Krauthhammer's idiocy and went into the kitchen.
"We have come to an end of a long journey. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly, McCain said."
That would go over like a Newt-Ron bomb.
She’s up next on Hannity.
Bachmann had a few good moments during the first few debates, especially the one in SC before she started attacking anyone and before Perry joined the race. And that's when she had a good surge up in the polls.
But since Perry and Gardasil, it's so apparent that she plans these attacks ahead od time and just waits for the moment, then she actually stages an ambush and it's just that obvious and blatant. People don't like that and it's hurt her time and again.
And I doubt even half the audience understood exactly what she meant when she ambushed Newt tonight.
Perry is AGAINST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.
Sorry to yell, but he is on record hundreds of times on the matter.
Michelle can identify all the problems and bash her opponents but has no solutions. Every option on the table...SPEAK!!!!!
As I see it Perry’s selling Texas to the nation and using this run now to do just that far more than his desire to run for President. He loves being Gov. of Texas and I just don’t believe he really wants the Presidency..and never did. When you look at him thru that lens then all he says makes allot of sense.

Which candidate stance and experience on illegal immigration is better?
To whoever asked if Megyn Kelly is a social liberal, I’d say it’s a safe bet. She’s not as clear and unambiguous about it as Margaret Hoover, but it’s been obvious that she leans to being a libertarian on social issues, and maybe other issues. She did a great interview with Howard Stern where he tried to get her to reveal her political views, and if I recall that reinforced her being a social liberal and also made her sound like a swing voter as to whether she’d vote Repub or Dem, but she didn’t admit much of that specifically.
She's Glenn Beck's baby and it shows.
FYI, Mitt won't be the nominee, but I seriously doubt that he would pick that toxic, contentious woman with the low polling numbers....LOL.

Is any other candidate going to challenge Obama to 7 debates? Is any other candidate going to show up where Obama was 4 hours later to respond to what Obama just said? Newt is fearless because he knows he’s right going against Obama. The Republican debates are a little more difficult for him, because there are not big differences and he doesn’t want to attack. But could you imagine Newt unleashed when he starts talking about the incompetence coming out of the White House. He wants to keep it positive now, but you have to believe the gloves will be coming off in the general election and it’s a message Americans need to hear. What good is winning the next election, if after 4 years Americans still believe Socialism is better? There is a threat to the mindset of this country right now because of Obama. Newt will change that mindset and get us back to thinking like Americans again. He was under constant attack tonight and he handled it well. He can take a punch and he can counter punch.

I agree on the “part-time congress” business. It works for
Texas, but it would never fly in Washington. Can you imagine
trying to pry the fingers of the congress pets from their
desks!...or getting them to vote for this stuff, which is what
would have to happen?
It makes him sound not so much like an outsider as one who
doesn’t even understand the political risk he’s taking with
such an off-the-wall position. Makes me embarrassed for him.
And I like him. :)
