DNC chair: Unemployment didn’t go up under Obama!
Hot Air ^ | December 12, 2011 | Ed Morrissey

Appearing on Fox News this morning, DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz insisted that unemployment didn’t go up in Barack Obama’s term of office, a hilarious argument on several levels. Debbie Downer then lectures Gretchen Carlson that “your narrative doesn’t work any longer,” to which a bemused Carlson responds that she’s just relating the facts:

“Tell a lie often enough and the people will start to believe it.”

Unbfortunately there are just too many unemployed and under-employed to believe this silliness; I’m glad the libs think it will work, though.

Unemployment was in the low 5 percent range throughout most of President Bush’s two terms. It didn’t really spike until the end of his second term when Wall Street and housing collapsed. And then, it went to 7 percent. The 9.5 was totally on obamas watch and the republicans need to do a better job of pointing this out. Everyone was working during the Bush years. There were so many jobs to fill that I recall stories about companies hiring retirees.

All this was inspired by the principle—which is quite true within itself—that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Bagdad Bob are the same person. You never saw them together.

Oh wait, Bagdad Bob was funny, DwS is dangerous.

"The check is in the mail."
"I am from the government and I am here to help you,"
"This tax will benefit you."
"We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."

... and now ,,,

"We project that unemployment will not go over 8.5% if we pass this $767 Billion Stimulus in 2009."

At what point will the DNC be renamed the "Democrat National Prevaricator Committee"?

That is EXACTLY what I have been looking for...the actual NUMBER of unemployed people compared to early 2009...the 'unemployment' number is BOGUS! It implies that more people are finding work, which is BULL...well, you know.

When The Admin needs a lowering of the number, they just have the BLS drop a few off the 'looking for work' list. Several months ago, they needed a drop, so the BLS lost some 2 million from the job-seeker number. The most recent drop had the BLS remove another half-million or so job-seekers.

They will continue to manipulate the numbers through next October. I wouldn't be surprised to see them touting a 6.9% UE by then -- with an upward revision -- after the election.

The MSM and Dems have only started polishing the t*rd. The rehabilitation and resurrection will continue and increase during the coming year.

The GOP won't have the shoo-in election they anticipate. Incumbency is difficult to win against.

When are they going to point out that gas was around 1.80 or so when BO ‘assumed the throne’?

(I know, ‘beating a dead horse etc) If an R would have basically doubled the gas then did all in his power to effectively halt drilling (for OUR benefit) in this hemisphere, he would have already been ‘impeached’ (or what passes for it) - this includes the (non) pipe line from Canada.

Government employment didn’t go up. Plus, you have the number of people and corporations on welfare at an all time high. Just think of them of government employees, too.

So what she said is true from a Leftist perspective!

Debbie Does step out of the bounds of reality anytime she’s in front of a camera so it doesn’t surprise me at all to hear that Democrat make such an outlandish assertion.

The problem is that total private employment has dropped 5.9 million since Obama took office. In the meantime, the population has increased by millions.
