Volt Named 2011s Collectible Car of Future Years from now General Motors Co.s Chevrolet Volt extended-range hybrid sedan will be the most desirable North American-made model from the 2011 model year, according to the Friends of the National Automotive History Collection in Detroit.
The group names a future collectible each year. Past winners, which have all been domestic brand cars, include the Chevy Camaro (2010), Ford Flex (2009), Dodge Challenger (2008), Dodge Viper SRT10 (2007), Pontiac Solstice (2006), Ford Mustang (2005) and Chrysler 300 (2004). The honor was first bestowed on the Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Aurora in 1995.
The NAHC calls itself the worlds largest public archive of automotive books, manuals, photos and historic documents.
The Edsel was a good car that was just ugly and had a bad nameplate......
The Volt is just bad....................
Never buy a collectible that suddenly bursts into flame.
Like the Edsel I would imagine or the Yugo.
Volt named collectable car of the future

I can so totally see this. What they need to do is get one now for the day they open a Barack Obama Memorial LieBarry. In Kenya, of course.
NOTHING symbolizes the failure of the Obama presidency like the Chevy Volt forced on us taxpayers by Barry himself.
in the future the thing is a brick.
no battery, gas only.
it is toxic waste in the future.
>>do people actually collect these? LOL
Junkyards do.
VERY nice.
This has been a fun thread at Hussein’s (and unfortunately our) expense.
Make sure to take out the battery before long-term storage.

That was a fine old ‘56 Buick Roadmaster hardtop coupe at one time. Too bad it’s just being left to rust into the ground.
Because not many Volts will survive the electrical fires. I can understand that logic.
The volt a collectors item? LMAO!!!! Seriously, if you want to see some REAL Americana www.importedyanks.co.uk
"Government Motors" Headquarters? Detroit MI.
Enough said???
Where is the Yugo “Screwyourself”?
Scarcity makes an item a collectable.
And since 90% of these things are going to burst into flames within the next two years, they will become very collectable indeed.
Yeah, but then it burns-down the museum...
Sure, just like other collectibles like the Chevette, the Pacer, the Corvair. And lets not forget the Vega and the Pinto, some very collectible crap cars......

OK, most of these are nice as hell with the exception of the Volt. But what is with the Flex - that is a horribly, ugly monstrosity.
