Perry will be doing his bus tour in Iowa -- the one that was already set up with appearance dates. He isn't about to stand-up voters to amuse the Donald.

I agree with you. I don’t think Trump is credible AT ALL and Perry is right.
Bachmann was on Fox today and said she has not made a decision yet about the Trump debate and likes Trump a lot but there are some issues with the fact that Trump says he may be a candidate in the future. Santorum was on with Mark Levin last night and said he is enthusiastic and needs the debate so is wanting to do it. I have to say his interview with Levin last night was really great talking about Obama’s speech. I don’t think Perry likes debates.
Smart move by Perry. Why participate in anything to do with Donald Trump getting more attention?
Stay as far away from Trump as you can Gov. Perry.
Good move. Trump is nothing more than a one man band looking for someone to listen to him. This won’t be a debate, it will be a listen to the Donald.

The debate was supposed to be on the ‘ION’ network. Not sure of the total viewing audience.
I think it is a good thing. He has a huge bus tour in Iowa. IF it’d be planned ahead of time and he’d be able to make the proper arrangements, that is one thing but after he has set up this bus tour and set up all the locations to visit with people already invited...well tough on Trump. Trump needs to change the date to accommodate Perry.
Newt needs the help as he's paying off debts and could use some coin dropped into his war chest compliments of his new supporters.

This is a setup to be the Donald Show by Trump who has said he would consider running if the candidates are acceptable to him. What kind of moderator is this?

Exactly right. Think about all the people who would never watch a regular debate, but who will watch a Trump reality show. This will be a good forum to finally get to those people.

Good for Perry. Trump is not to be taken seriously. This kook is threatening to run “third party” if the chosen candidate does not suit him, thereby assuring the reelection of Obama. Trump is to be shunned.
Because Trump does not deserve the courtesy of someone responding to his demands. Perry gets extra points for turning down Trump. At least Perry loves his country—that’ more than we can say for Trump.
There are other “debates” still scheduled.

Correct call by Perry, although it must have been very tempting for him to ignore his better judgment because he’s behind in the polls.
Trump is useful in some ways and has some conservative bits to him, but he’s an egomaniacal clown. This debate is for Trump, not for anyone else. If this were hosted by Brit Hume, I’d be all for it.
Bachmann appears to be backing away as well. Basically she said she has some questions about Trump’s motivations that need to be answered first
