Newt spoke to a standing room only crowd of over 400 people last night at the Polk County GOP dinner in Johnston, Iowa. According to Kevin Hall from The Iowa Republican, Newt hit a homerun with the capacity crowd. Because of Newt's solutions-oriented campaign and optimistic vision for America, Hall notes that "Republicans are flocking to Gingrich in droves."

I’d be fun if Newtie were POTUS and Rummy and Cheney took turns tag-teaming the press corpse at the daily briefers.
Susan Martinez, Gov of NM.
Great, republicans are flocking to newt but, where are conservatives going?
Previously, none of the above, but as of yesterday, I’m pulling for Santorum.
“I like that hes going to follow Obama around and respond to every speech he makes.”
I think he understands the power of today’s Social Media, and instant responses. This campaign is going to be meanest of our lifetimes, no matter who gets the nomination.
Even DEMOCRATS realize that Obama must go, but it’s the 20% in the middle who decide elections.
Fine.
I’ll shut up and go to the back of the bus.
Better yet, I’ll just get off the Big Government Express right now. In fact, I did step off of it yesterday when I registered to vote.
I almost registered as a Republican, then I thought about their performance over the last 20 years and remembered that the Gutless Old Pretenders talk a great game at election time, but the actual product is never close to what is advertised. They are the Sea Monkeys of American politics.
We’re still waiting for Sarah!
I know, I know...
3 weeks ago, he was just a blip on the radar. Of course he doesn’t have many endorsements. They would be fools to run out and endorse him without seeing if he can go the distance first. Heck, most of them are fools anyway, but at least they know that much.
What’s worrisome is his past and his penchant for foot-in-mouth syndrome. Wondering which Newt will show up to debate Zero is another worry. Which will it be? Newt, the conservative stalwart? Or Newt, the ‘nice guy’ who buys into the premise of every leftist argument and only disagrees on meaningless policy minutia just to prove he’s not the ‘evil Republican’ everyone said he was?
If he wins, which one of those Newts will show up for work? If it’s the former, he could be a terrific president. If it’s the latter, he could do great damage to conservatism for years to come and put the final nails in the coffin of this country.
Even the Newt pumpers on this site can’t answer those questions with anything approaching certainty.
is this post an example of “pimping”? Think I’ll retain my non-pimp status here, even regarding NEWTSTER.

ALL politicians will do this. Newt will also say things they don't want to hear, and do it on purpose. He gets bashed for adding a dash of reality.
Not by me, it wasn't.
Reagan had a solid core of conservative principals that guided his decision making processes. Newt has no such foundation....and I like the guy.
Newt is a grandiose problem solver. And without the Reagan-style conservative philosophical foundation, no one can predict how Newt will "problem solve".
You’re not kidding! What he said the other day about children who live in neighborhoods where no example of hard work is shown will, themselves, grow to be poor/non-workers is a case in point. What he said is, of course, absolutely true. And in context of his other remarks, it becomes undeniable. But sound-byted, it is like blood in the water to a gathering of makos.
I love him for this...but you really gotta be ready someimes when it comes to defending Newt.

“I think he really needs some colleagues he worked with in the past giving him a thumbs up. If he cant produce any, what does that say?”
Well, when Boehner and his buddies slithered out of the shadows to stab him in the back because Newt wouldn’t back down with Clinton (something y’all would be cheering today if he did it to Dingy Harry) and they blamed Newt for the losses that came, when he got tipped off, he tore a few new ones for some of the Grand Old Potty - so maybe there are some who aren’t too hot on Newt. Which is OK with me. Isn’t that what we wanted? Take on the Corrupt Bastards? The Grand Old Potty is as bad as the Dhims. What have they done? Sweeping entitlement reforms? Take on the debt issue? They can’t.
The only leadership in the country worse than the WH is in the RNC and the House.
What do we have here, a bunch of kids or amnesiacs? He kicked the snot out of the Dems and he’ll do it again and won’t care who he pisses off. Which, of course, is what I like about him.
“Newt Gingrich is by no means the perfect candidate. But Republican primary voters too often make the mistake of preferring an unattainable ideal to the best candidate who is actually running. In this incredibly important election, that candidate is Newt Gingrich. He has the experience, the leadership qualities and the vision to lead this country in these trying times. He is worthy of your support on January 10.” - NH Union Leader
Oh...and Politics ain’t beanbag. Stiffen your spines, stop whining and get behind someone who has been there and worked with giants. Yeah, like Newt.
If we don’t change the GOP from top to bottom and eliminate the insiders, it will be the end of the Republic ... they all need to be dismissed. They have made a mockery of Conservatism and of our way of life. I will not contribute or vote for any candidate who toes the GOP party line ...
Will MO an BHO fly to Hawaii solo?
Who will replace Reggie Love? Who surrounds BHO presently? What functions do all these people that go on these monstrous trips perform for BHO? are these people mostly Black? Mostly one sex? Young?
Anyone remember the pic of 0bama on the tarmac in Canada walking, shortly before the 2008 election? He was surrounded by NOI, not Sec Sve, although he had SS protection.
Betting also he did not use a teleprompter?
“The VP pick this year is going to be crucial. Wish we had an idea of who hes leaning towards”
A completely uninformed guess, but I would bet we see these names on the Short List:
Nikki Haley (Most likely choice, for a WHOLE BUNCH OF REASONS)
Marco Rubio (but I doubt it.)
Alan West (Wouldn’t that just blow up the Democrat Base?)
Mark Sanford
Mitt Romney
Susana Martinez
Rick Snyder
