Cain to End Candidacy Tomorrow? (Major Announcement tomorrow.)
Big Government ^

Posted on 12/02/2011 11:35:32 AM PST by sunmars

Embattled presidential candidate Herman Cain is inviting his top supporters and donors to Atlanta on Saturday for a meeting in which he will give them advance word of whether he intends to continue his campaign, sources close to the campaign said Friday.

One supporter who has been summoned to the private session said he believes that Cain is likely to announce he is ending his candidacy.

Another who has been invited to the morning meeting says attendees have been told he has made no decision, but wanted to meet with some of the supporters to express his gratitude.

Several sources indicated that Cain is likely to announce his plans publicly at a news conference after the meeting. Cain had already scheduled an event on Saturday — the grand opening of his national headquarters in his hometown of Atlanta, as well as the announcement of his campaign’s freshly minted senior leadership team for the state of Georgia.

What a person is in his private life,he will also be in his public life.

That's not necessarily true. No one is perfect. I'm not excusing anything he may (or may not)have done-its just a fact of life.
That being said, I maintain,as I have all along, that Cain himself brought his campaign down. The accusations were not handled or addressed correctly by Cain or anyone on his campaign staff.
As for the "woven web of lies",the problem with that statement is that Cain himself admitted to knowing the woman, keeping the association (innocent or not)with this woman from his wife for 13 years, and flummoxed about making weak excuses such as he's "soft-hearted" and "was helping a friend",and at least one time admitted to "making a mistake", all fodder for the media and blogosphere grist-mill.Cain did it to himself-period.

Amen! :)

Andk BTW (just to wade into the water)....David and Bathsheba’s son died, and Paul had a “thorn in his flesh” all his life. God loves the sinner, but hates the sin and He expects us to know that we will be held accountable...as will the two gentlemen of whom you speak.

If they have asked for God’s forgiveness, God can give it. I just pray that Mr. Cain survives this. We need him.

Problem there is...that's not a big announcement.

I just don’t understand why people are so reluctant on santorum.

I had a crazy aunt who was once committed to a santorum...she was reluctant too.

;-)

Seriously, he is dull. If you can't electrify the voters in your own party...you have NO chance in the general.

Leadership is not dull...leadership is compelling.

Santorum is not compelling.

You point out a very critical act of Obama and his enablers i.e. removing political opponents by publicizing any real or suggested indiscretions. At the same time knowing the effects of such actions they hide the history of Obama. It is not surprising that these kind of people are out of Chicago but what is surprising is that the enablers go far beyond Chicago in time and distance. Why hasn’t anyone publicized that the Axelrod family in Chicago is festered with communism going back to the days of Trotsky and Stalin? Why isn’t it public knowledge that in the 1990s at a business meeting in Moscow the rabid communist hostess was gushing that there was a man named Barack who had a Kenyan father and white American mother was being groomed to be POTUSA? By what means did she know that? There is much more to this drama than just what the news media wants it to be limited too. The history of taking away the exceptionalism of the USA is old copy going back to the days Wilson bringing in European bankers to set up the Fed Reserve which is not a USA entity. To get back to the Axelrods, the family should be exposed for whom they are but they can hide behind Chicago politics and now Raahm Immanual. We have to put the kabash on this ‘new world order’ ideology if the USA is to remain true to the spirit of our Founders.

It seems he could stay in a while until this dies down and then exit. Either way he’s gone.

Yes I totally agree. I dont know how some of these so called conservatives can so easily abandon a tea party candidate and jump on board with a beltway insider who is just another Republicrat.

__What a person is in his private life,he will also be in his public life.__

“That’s not necessarily true.”

YES, it is. If I lie in my personal life, I will do it elsewhere as well. Character does NOT compartmentalize.

“As for the “woven web of lies”,the problem with that statement is that Cain himself admitted to knowing the woman...”

I agree that he did not handle this well....but it does not negate that he is being attacked with lies.

only 2 candidates in this race who are remotely capable of DOING THE JOB, and winning a general election.

Uh...winning the election is "THE JOB"!... Anything else is just a bonus.

Any of the candidates would be infinitely better than the current "Occupier" of the White House.

Point taken about the need for caution. Ginger White needs to be able to fully account for her actions and be ready to substantiate what, where and when, and so does Cain. Hopefully that will be forthcoming.

We do need to realize, though, that there are people who will take offense where none is given and people who will make even pure things into impure. So there is no way to live in such a way that NOBODY can find fault or make insinuations. So those who say that just having somebody accuse you at all is a game ender are in effect saying that as long as you’ve got ruthless enemies you should give up.

I say if you’ve got ruthless enemies it’s all the more imperative that you keep pressing on.

You have no proof he's being attacked with lies-not from this woman.
Aren't you being a bit premature?
That would be a character flaw, and,to quote you, character does NOT compartmentalize.
.Seems to me like you're willing to blame someone else for what Cain did to himself.
He's going to have to pull an awfully big rabbit out of his hat to overcome this.

What some don’t seem to understand is..first Palin, now Cain.

No, first Nixon, then Reagan, then Dan Qualin, then Packwood, then Bork, then Clarence Thomas, then Bush, then Trent Lott, then several others, then Palin, then Bachmann, then Perry, now Cain (I'm sure I left some out)

What did they have in common?

Some of them were simply Republicans. But the CPUSA and their RATagandist media will do or say anything to destroy the opposition. Especially lie and fabricate "evidence".

On the bearing false witness part - if Cain was really interested in denying something that is really true, then why did he tell us that Gloria didn’t know about the money, when it would have been so easy to say she did?

Everything Cain has said about this woman and this situation matches what we are able to check out thus far. On the other hand, his accuser has been convicted of libel. The only evidence she has presented actually supports what Cain has said.

"It’s not just the affair(s) — it’s the dissembling, the exhibition of poor judgment, and the totally inept management of the issue that leave me cold."

Exactly, it should be easy to see the difference, but apparently it is not. I am not sure I buy all the accusations, but I am sure that the whole thing was handled in an inept and amateurish fashion. That is too bad as I was warming to Cain after Bachmann flamed out. Right now I do not have a horse in the race.

Something just occurred to me. It was she who started calling him up a lot from October to November. What was it? 200 texts between Oct 22 through Nov 18th? Wasn’t that about the time when Obama’s people started figuring out that the first bimbo accusations weren’t going to stick?

We need to see what kind of phone records this gal has BEFORE they tried taking him out with bimbo accusations. What kind of texting were they doing last March?

Of course this is “recent”. The real test would be what kind of evidence predates the time when Obama’s people were looking for bimbos.

And we know they are doing this as a strategy. Who was it who was offering money to any bimbo who could get Perry in trouble?

IF it’s a woven web of lies, how would you handle it? I know that I would be screaming bloody murder and telling all about how much of a dead beat she is...when and where I gave her any money; if they supposedly went to a boxing match in Las Vegas, what airline did they travel on, what hotel did they stay at....debunk the story! He soft soaped it too much which never put the lid on anything.

I sent him money too, and still like the guy....it gives the appearance that he’s not coming 100% clean, although I’m not accusing him of anything.
