A federal grand jury is investigating former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson over possible campaign-finance violations stemming from his 2008 presidential run, including allegations that he arranged for supporters to pay off a woman who planned to say they had engaged in an extramarital affair...
Several of Mr. Richardson's close associates have been granted immunity from prosecution in exchange for their testimony

Richardson .....from what I’ve heard Clinton sent him his leftovers....
Sounds much like John Edwards (D) story.
I’m shocked, just shocked, about this happening to a good Democrat.
I thought the rules are: if a good Democrat has an affair, or allegations come up, then we’re supposed to trash the accuser, say she’s a liar/slut, and just move on. If that doesn’t work, then you say it was just a consensual sex matter which “we’ve already talked about and dealt with”, to paraphrase how Bill Clinton would handle such things.
On the other hand, a Republican is such situations is to be crucified.
democRATS, meh .............................. FRegards
If they can after this guy; they can go after Hillary.
ROTFL.
Well, he did meet in private with Monica.
Why is the accusation of an affair with Richardson termed ‘alleged’ and an accusation of an affair with Cain reported as fact? Oh, right, media bias.
Good. He supported the Texas RATS who ran away when redistricting didn’t go their way.
Funny how she “never” mentioned Cain, but the article url leaves out “never.”
The Dems know how to make this sort of thing go away. Not that I want Republicans to break the law, of course.
Here you go:
From the ABQ Journal November 15:
Feds Probe Richardson Campaign (NM)
NY Post article this morning:
Bill Richardson under investigation for 2008 presidential campaign violations, sources say
The most explosive matter under investigation involves allegations by a former member of Richardson's inner circle. That individual said Richardson's political allies gave $250,000 to placate a woman who was considering suing the governor in 2007, exposing their alleged extramarital affair, according to people familiar with the federal probe. The woman's identity has not been disclosed, and the type of suit considered has not been confirmed.
And:
The grand jury is also examining other alleged financial irregularities, as well as whether Richardson used his clout as governor to push through a controversial road project that benefited a major political contributor, the people said. (See July story below)

Sorry about the dup - FR or internet hiccup - got a proxy error with the first one but it obviously went through.
Do you guys remember Richardson’s first run for Congress, and the mysterious $100,000 that he eventually claimed came from his mother?
The thing that is interesting about the donation coming from his mother is that she is a foreign national.
