What Your Thanksgiving Meal Says About You
When it comes to the holidays, you follow and love the big traditions. You look forward to them every year.

You see the holidays as a time to think about what's important to you. It's a good time to reflect and regroup.

You like the more adult aspects of the holidays - parties, cocktails, and having time off from work.

During the holidays, you are likely to feel creative. At your worst, you feel unappreciated.

You consider yourself to be a bit of a purist, and you're proud of it.

You tend to spend your holidays sharing and pitching in. You'll do whatever needs to be done.

Well, it’s time for the scalloped corn report. It was a hit! It didn’t come out the way we wanted, but we improvised and overcame.

The right way to do this dish is in a crock that you can bake the corn in, in the oven. Tonight’s dish consisted of 6 cans of regular corn, 2 cans of creamed corn, a pound of butter, and a pound of cream cheese. The mixture is topped with bread crumbs and baked. That’s the normal way.

We cooked the dish in the crock pot on low for about 5 hours; planning to add the bread crumbs afterwards. Because of time constraints, we had to put the corn into a baking dish, put the bread crumbs on top, then Nana broiled it in the toaster oven.

It came out okay, but relying on the crock pot alone didn’t work. Live and learn!

This is what we are facing tomorrow:

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST
WEDNESDAY...

* LOCATIONS...COOS COUNTY NEW HAMPSHIRE EASTWARD TO THE WESTERN
MAINE MOUNTAINS...AS WELL AS CENTRAL MAINE.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOW.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN PRIOR TO DAWN WEDNESDAY...AND BECOME
HEAVY VERY QUICKLY. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED
WEDNESDAY MORNING INTO MID AFTERNOON BEFORE TAPERING OFF AND
ENDING BY LATE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...HEAVY SNOW WILL CAUSE TREACHEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS
DUE TO SLIPPERY ROADWAYS AND SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES.
THE AMOUNT OF SNOW MAY LEAD TO SCATTERED TREE DAMAGE AND SUBSEQUENT
POWER OUTAGES.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 20S.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW
ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN
EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...
AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

I have the day off, thank God!
Mr B only has a 4 mile trip to town.
Glad we got the wood in, as power outages are likely..
*sigh*
Back in a few, gotta get out of these scrubs!

Lots to eat! A plate of traditional food, a plate of salads, and three pieces of pie (pumpkin, sweet potato, and banana cream) to share.

And lots of fellowship, to boot.

Finger is much improved.

Week of healing has made a huge difference.
