A New York City judge has upheld City Hall's decision to evict protesters from Zuccotti Park, denying a court order issued by attorneys on their behalf, the Associated Press reports.
The eviction began early Tuesday morning when hundreds of police officers in riot gear before raided the New York City park where the Occupy Wall Street protests began, evicting and arresting dozens of protesters from what has become the epicenter of the worldwide movement with other cities, such as Dallas and London likely to follow suit.

It’s 6:30pm, and the protesters are discussing how they can sleep in the park without bringing in tents. One of the women said that this company gave Oakland protesters JakPaks, and that perhaps the company will donate a few hundred to NYC protesters. Little do they know it was given the title of “Worst Gear of the Year, 2010.” Check this out... LOL

IF NYC were to submit and collect the daily costs things might return to normal; at the least, NYC taxpayers would not get stuck for the bill.
At the same time, a public nuisance complaint/legal action raised by residential and commercial neighbors who are taking a monetary hit or are otherwise unable to enjoy their property might restore normalcy.

I read here last night that the owners of Zucotti Park received $168 million dollars from the government for an energy project(or something like that). I think they could handle the fines for awhile.
What worked, what didn’t, who was supportive, who was against it,what social networks cooperated or had issues, how forceful was the response by local authorities, etc, etc.
I said the very same thing 2 months ago when this all started.
Though I am a bit surprised by how many mayors went along with this drill.

This was a "Dry Run" to prep for the real anarchy next summer.
The money men behind this "movement" verified their assumptions and fine tuned their template. They know that with a few paid agitators and organizers they can pull in enough useful idiots to create a critical mass. They know they can set the agenda and herd the useful idiots wherever they want.
They will reappear when the republican campaign season kicks off in ernest.
Tampa, Florida will rue the day they agreed to host the Republican convention. The downtown area is relatively small; the organized anarchists will easily over-run it and trash the city.

If I went to a local park with all my friends and family and took all the the picnic tables all day every day, can I claim free speech if I hold up a sign?

For anyone who’s spent New Years Eve in Times Square you know how unpleasant the wait can be. They pen you in like cattle, they will ticket you for open container,etc. Bathrooms are non-existent,tensions can run high due to crowding but you know it’s only a few hours so you deal with it. This situation is worse, most of your belongings got trashed, there is no end in sight, rain tonight, tomorrow and you lost your legal footing. I predict game nearly over.
I soooo don’t feel any sympathy for these losers! It’s a wonder that the outspoken New Yorkers haven’t had a few things to say about the conditions, etc.
I guess because NY is so large and diverse that many just ignored it as another sideshow that usually fades away. When they threatened to shut down the subways, Bklyn Bridge, and Wall St on Thursday many took notice forcing Bloomberg to act. Most of the protesters are what I consider pros, they live in the city, show up for the main events and let the saps from out of town get arrested. They won’t be standing in the rain tonight.
I’m sure the residents are sooo tired of the stench and the noise.
Hope they just fade away. However, they consider it a success, and like others have said, will no doubt try more stuff during the election cycle next year. It needs to be pinned to Hobama!
