A last-ditch drive ends in disappointment for Penn State, which loses to Nebraska, 17-14. Not having any timeouts crippled the offense, which completed two passes short of a first down, including one with seconds left, but couldn't stop the clock.
This is a different Saturday in State College. Immediately after McGloin's final pass fell incomplete, the Penn State crowd cheered the team's effort: the cheering grew to a roar as the two teams again met a midfield, such as they did right before the game.
Again, as occurred several times during the game, there were chants of "We love JoePa." Interviewed after the game, interim coach Tom Bradley said that what Penn State has gone through over the last week is "unprecedented in the history of college sports."

Paterno is the CEO of Penn State Football, Inc.....the buck stopped at his desk.
Punish the people responsible, starting first and most importantly with the perpetrator. It’s not a hard concept.
Explain to me again what today’s players did? I must have missed your answer, or is it just more fun to call them all pedophiles. Wow, I thought freepers were a little smarter than that.
How the mighty have fallen. For ten years or longer Sandusky was buggering young boys. JoPa was informed and just passed along the message but did not do anything else. Sandusky was his friend and heir apparent.
Whether Paterno compartmentalized this and put it out of his mind, or knowingly did what he could to cover it up, we may never know. But all he has done in his career with PSU since his first days beginning in the 1960s has now been eclipsed by this terrible scandal. He now will retire to receive instead of accolades criminal and civil subpoenas, likely for the rest of his life. So, so sad.
...although I’m sure those institutions consider him a role model!

I quit being a fan of college football years ago, when a kicker from the U of MI kiled himself after missing a field goal with Ohio State. Even if he’d had psychological issues, that was more than I wanted to stomach over it.
I watch games, but with a distracted gaze.
No one has been supporting McQueary’s course of action here.
Why are Penn State alumni sending Sandusky money for his upcoming legal defense fees?
Did not think of that.
Seriously, I don’t like to have think about any connection between Sandusky and sexual activity in any way.
I even thought the “F- Sandusky” chants were too suggestive.
If Joe did that, it would be saving grace. Alas, he’s employed a criminal lawyer.
Well, ALL of college ball needs to get it. Everywhere. And understand the consequences.
Well, I wasn't there so can't confirm it, but it does sound pretty likely that it happened to me.
Reporters also said that there were no protests outside of the Stadium today.
Really? Then they are doing a terrible job. Even though the media has been atrocious all week, I'm still surprised that they missed the Westboro Baptist Church being there, if what you say is true. What exactly did you want protested? The fact that there would be a game?
The team should have respectfully refused to play the game, in support of the victims - including the 10 year old boy..
:(
We will never see eye to eye on this...but I know I can sleep at night knowing I desire justice.
Kevin Jennings... the queer school administrator who advised a 15 year old boy who was having sex with an “older” man to “remember to wear a condom.”

Revolting. Completely revolting. Defend THAT if you can. I for one am disgusted by the cultish allegence you folks give to that degenerate old geezer.
“Why are Penn State alumni sending Sandusky money for his upcoming legal defense fees?”
Hush money?
“BTW, the University of Pennsylvania is a private school for those not in the know.”
About 1/2 hour’s drive from me.
Your first post is laughable, so I don’t put any stock in your opinion of what will or will not be laughable.
Obviously you have a very vested interest in Penn State. I Get it....But I did not see anyone who is saying your son should be punished. He graduated in Engineering. Was any of this related to Engineering? No. However, the way the President reacted and the way the University handles this going forward could impact the repultation of the university. That is reality.
If it was determined that the Engineering program was compromised, then your son might have to suffer being impacted from a tainted program...that actually does happen in real life...You think some Solyndra employees are not going to get a raised eyebrow when they apply elsewhere?
Sorry but the Penn State scandal is hideous as relating the athletics at Penn State, but the lack of timely direct action (a.k.a coverup) is even more troubling to us uninformed idiots...
Well, Democrat blue finally outs itself.
