A Texas gun instructor who made headlines with an ad in which he said Obama supporters and Muslims are not welcome in his class is kind of, sort of backtracking off his statements.
Crockett Keller's radio ad has gone viral.
"If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner in chief, please do not take this class," Keller said in the ad. "You've already proved that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision as required under the law. Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you this class."
The Texas Department of Public Safety reached out to Keller, who told them he would not discriminate against anyone.
"Crockett Keller affirmed that he would not refuse concealed handgun license instruction to anyone based on national origin, race or religion," said department spokesman Tom Vinger in a statement. "The investigation is closed. DPS will have no additional comment at this time."
However in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Keller said of the Public Safety statement, "It was not a retraction of anything... I will definitely use a tremendous amount of discretion when it comes to who I will teach how to use a weapon."
He said he would evaluate would-be students on an individual basis.
"I would listen to people, listen to their comments to determine who wants to train and notify the state about any concerns I have about their safety or character -- by me being vigilant, trying to ascertain who’s who in my class and what their true needs are as far as a concealed-carry license."
Crockett said if he has learned anything from this controversy it is, "We have got to start speaking up. We are still the majority in the United States. It is the Judeo-Christian principles that we founded this country on that have made this country great."
Well, if he was the only one, the guvment would have a case. The liberals and muslimes can go to someone else.
He is a moron. Does he think he lives in a free country? Ha. He also probably got a letter from Holder’s “Just-us” Department.
I laughed my *** off when I heard the commercial on radio at like 5:45 one morning.

Expect a muslim plant to be sent into his place who is perfect in all ways, except the person is a muslim, probably with a diaper on his head so there’s no confusion.
Bammy supporters are taught to hold the gun sideways. Muzzies are taught to point it toward mecca while facing west.
Require the BO supporters and muslims (but then, I repeat myself) to buy a ‘uniform’ shirt’ complete with a bullseye over the heart where the American flag is on shirts for the others.
Based on this statement, I would not take a concealed-carry class from him. (I've already taken mine so it's not a concern.) As a concealed-carry class instructor, he has no responsibility to try to ascertain whether somebody has a NEED regarding concealed-carry -- only that they are complying with the statutory requirements for completing the class.
As I posited on an earlier thread, how long before the Democrats come up with a Muslim to put him to the test?
He can fail anyone he wants to, and probably will do just that.

The best point made by another FReeper here on an earlier thread was that I bet the flight instructors in Florida that taught some of the 9-11 hijackers how to fly could have used the same discretion Mr. Keller is talking about here...

Not all muslims are terrorists, but 100% of terrorists so far have been muslim...
If we have another mass shooting somewhere in this country and it was determined that the shooter(s) recieved support based upon a state mandated non-discriminatory policy...
