Penn State trustees fire football coach Joe Paterno and PSU president Spanier

Penn State trustees fired football coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier (SPAN-yer) amid the growing furor over how the school handled sex abuse allegations against an assistant coach.

The massive shakeup Wednesday night came hours after Paterno announced that he planned to retire at the end of his 46th season.

But the outcry following the arrest of former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky on molestation charges proved too much for the board to ignore.

One key question has been why Paterno and other top school officials didn't go to police in 2002 after being told a graduate assistant saw Sandusky assaulting a boy in a school shower...

"... Apparently, a lot of people forget biblical teachings: He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..."

I think that when the sordid details of the full story are finally revealed, you'll be wishing that you'd opened the first 'three for a dollar' throwing rock concession stand because there are going to be people guilty without a doubt who ought to be stoned to death by a seething mob.

The grand jury report states that the grad asst. told Paterno “what he saw”. That’s it. Doesn’t say it was specific, doesn’t say it wasn’t. In the report McQueary describes in detail what he saw. So on it’s face if the report says he told Paterno what he saw we have to assume it was all of it. We don’t know that of course but the possibility exists that what Paterno was told and how he re-told it are two very different things.

As I said earlier...Was Arlen Spector a Penn fan? Close ties? How close? Might explain some voting by certain people.

Speculation on my part, but I DO wonder.

agreed.
People or some people care more about this firing than the kids who were molested.

My wife and I just saw that press conference and nearly fell off our chairs when the reproter asked” you still have a lot to play for and how can you get the team together after all they have been through?”

ARE YOU FRIGGING KIDDING ME.

WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN THROUGH

Kids, boys have been molested by a homosexual man and some care more about this frigging football team and their players and the fired coach.

Those students should have been rioting about justice for the kids not some crappy football team and coach.

This has just shown how much the country has gone down in morals, justice etc when they care about a coach getting fired and not saying anything or getting worked up about the poor boys molested and raped.

SICK.

All I know for sure is that whether he believed it to be credible or not, he had a legal and more importantly ethical/moral obligation to report whatever he knew to actual law enforcement.

Were I ever put in such a position, I would rapidly deal with it as above and on my own corner the person involved and get his story. Then the cards would fall where they may.

Time to declare war to the death on cultural Marxists who allowed this.

Exactly!

Did you know by the way that the "great" economist John Maynard Keynes was a pedophile who liked to go to Tunis to enjoy young boys?

I didn't know that. Puke.

...”to enjoy young boys”

All the excusers on this thread REALLY need to ponder that particular phrase and imagine —in detail— just what that entails as it relates to this Sandusky/Paterno thing.

Might help them achieve a bit of clarity on the issue.

, I wondered why were they so afraid to bust Sandusky...if it was just simply one guy doing this, what’s the big deal, it wouldn’t impact the program that much....as long as he was out of the picture.

If one of Mark Madden's speculations proves correct - that Paterno and others engaged in a coverup of the initial known instance of Sandusky's activities in the shower rooms - then they would have known they were legally culpable for that, and would have had motives to continue the coverup, no matter what else Sandusky did after the initial incident.

There are all sorts of sordid possibilities.

This is eye opening, because it shows how freaking degraded the culture has become, that such enablers and supporters of homosexual pedophilia have no shame about being so open with their tacit support. And WE are the bad guys, to them! WE are the weirdos! We are the extremists.

Norm, shit is going to hit the fan soon. Stock up, be prepared.

The act took place on university grounds.Paterno did not witness it. It was only reported to him as part of the chain of command. Paterno did report the transgression within the university chain of command when it was reported to him. It would literally take 10 to 15 minutes to get to the top of the chain and be reported to the police. The question is where did it break in the chain. That is the guy responsible. Must everyone in the chain reporting something they did not see or could testify to in court go directly to the police? Is Paterno to be held accountable for his superiors even though he did not witness the act.I think many are being too hard on the guy

You know my position. It HAS to hit the fan and get sorted once and for all. The sooner the better. This Homo/pedo crap, the Occupy Wonderland nonesense, Obama’s vision of Moscow... I am past the point of worrying about it and welcome it.

Good people will win out and set us back on the right path or liberals will and it’s Full on Road Warrior scenario forever and ever, Amen. I’m betting on the home team ;)

What sickens me is that it sound as if McQueary and Paterno still shared the athletic facilities with Sandusky. No doubt coming into contact with him all the time. How could they even stand the sight of him? I don’t get it at all. It’s almost as if they gave a wink and a nod to what he was doing. It is sickening.

Not busting your chops, but to say that he used a good practice as his "MO" is a bit incorrect and disingenuous.

No "chop-busting" felt here,my friend, and what I said was quite correct and not disingenuous. That certainly WAS his M.O. Showering after practice may be what all coaches adhere to,but the coach coming up from behind, lathering up the student and then anally raping them is certainly NOT a practice that coaches adhere to,or there'd be no athletic programs left in school. Please try to focus on the criminal, his crimes and the current situation.

Not to bust your chops or anything, but you're the one being a bit incorrect.

There is not a word about Paterno in the Grand Jury Presentment.

Page seven,second paragraph.
Please try to focus and be sure to actually read the report before commenting.
