Rasmussen FL POLL (Cain 30%, Romney 24%, Gingrich 19%)
Rassmussen ^ | 11/9/11 | Rasmussen

Posted on 11/09/2011 10:23:29 AM PST by justsaynomore

As he continues to battle media coverage over past sexual harassment allegations, businessman Herman Cain leads other Republican hopefuls in the first Rasmussen Reports look at the GOP primary race in Florida.

The latest statewide telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary voters shows Cain with 30% support while former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney picks up 24% of the vote. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich draws support from 19% of Florida GOP voters with no other candidate picking up double-digits.

This Florida survey of 788 Likely Republican Primary Voters was conducted on November 8, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Read Lin’s bio...he has steel in his eyes for justice. He knows Herman is telling the truth or he would not have represented him.

That poll doesn’t include leaners. So that tells us that solid Cain support is not quite as strong as solid Mitt support.

Which is to be expected. People who are solid Mitt supporters have been Mitt supporters for some time now. He ain’t going anywhere. Cain, on the other hand, you’d expect a substantial proportion of his support to come from leaners.

Cain Rocks!

Cain is our only choice since Palin bowed out. We have to have someone that will reject all elements of DC. Cain is a brilliant man, and a man of honor.

With more attacks on Cain, the more popular he gets.

Because those attacks are lies.

Palin never demonstrated the kind of backbone that Herman Cain has.

Herman wouldn't field dress a moose...he would wrestle a grizzly bear hand to hand and then hire a pitbull lawyer to defeat him in court.

They’re both capable of it.

Newt did lots of dirty tricks on Conservative congressmen when he was speaker, so I know that he’ll do what he can to defeat the conservative for 2012. He is absolutely ruthless.

It's not so much the "fooling around" that concerns me about Newt. It's the fact that he evidently dumped two of his wives for younger women.

Even if the allegations about Cain are true, and I stipulate to that for the sake of argument, and he fools around with other women, the fact is that Cain remains married to his first wife and never dumped her for the "trophy wife".

I think many conservatives can understand a man having sexual urges on the road, so to speak, but the main thing is you go home to the wife who gave birth to and raised your children as opposed to kicking her to the street to shack up with some gold-digging bimbo.

Now all of the above is conceding the point that Cain might be a womanizer. In actuality, I take Cain at his word that the accusations being made against him by those other woman are false. That said, I would be deeply disturbed if it ever came out that Cain was lying about this.

“I’m supporting Herman Cain until the end.”

AMEN BROTHER!!!! This is OUR CHANCE to let Karl Rove and the Media that we WILL NOT let them (again) select our candidate. We simply will not.

Personally, I think they’re simply re-running the Clarence Thomas model, as that is the only model they know to stop an uppity negro (as they look at them). They also think that us conservative guys have some deep fear of losing our girls to strong black man (sick, but an example of projection).

They could parade 100 girls at this point, I simply REFUSE to believe them. I figure that Cain has crossed paths with many thousands of women that don’t want him to be president, simply because they’re liberals...so why should I believe ANY OF THEM???

That is a stupid lie, and it does a number on what little credibility you may have left.

There is so much crap that Newt has done to GOP conservatives that I could believe anything about him easily. Newt is in this to destroy us; bet on it.

“Yeah, I was a bit surprised by Perry’s strength in LA”

Two things. LA is close enough to Texas for people to think they understand Perry, but, of course, they don’t. Otherwise he’d be in the gutter there too. The other part is when the poll was taken (of course).

I don’t know if I’d agree with what you say his motive is...but I do tend to agree that the result would be what you say, regardless of the motive.

They say things happen for the best. I was very disappointed when I learned Palin wasn’t running about a month ago. However, I have been very impressed with Herman Cain and yes, he is shaping up to be an even stronger candidate than Palin would have been.

“That’s a funny comment, but oh so true.”

Same effect as Perry had nationally.

I make fun of Perry, but some 15 years ago I drove down the Mississippi River delta...which goes about 100 miles downstream from New Orleans. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was totally blown away by the number of helicopter bases there. They support off-shore drilling (take a look at the Mississippi Delta and you’ll see why the helicopters are based there). This is VERY SERIOUS business. Perry may be a jerk and corrupt (had to get that in), but he has been rock-solid regarding energy, Gulf drilling, and global warming. He doesn’t just speak for Texas on those subjects, he’s speaking for some of the best-paying jobs in LA, and they appreciate that.

So I’d love him to be Cain’s Energy Secretary, a job where a ‘heart’ is not needed (and a job that gets him out of Texas).

America would be a better place if it were run as Perry’s Texas. No doubt. I voted with my feet.

If the vote were between Perry and Obama, I would wholeheartedly support Perry. But until then, I believe that Herman Cain is the best candidate.

For sure. First, we TRUST Cain, whereas we have no clue what to expect from Perry...except for immigration-related issues. Second, the Dems (and/or RINOs) have pretty much shot their wad at Cain. I doubt that they have much more, or they’d be using it...they DO NOT want Cain making it into the general election. But who knows what they have on Perry. Yes, Perry was in the lead, but it was a very short time, and I don’t thing the Dems minded him being the candidate (being such a flake)...so they kept quiet for now, as they’ve done with Newt and Michelle.
