Republican 2012 presidential candidates Republican 2012 presidential candidates Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich met in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate on current economic and social issues facing the U.S.
There’s a residency requirement in the 12th amendment. At least the VP or Presidential candidate much be a resident of a state other than a state’s slate of electors. It’s why Cheney switched his residency back to WY from TX to run with W. This shouldn’t be an issue for a Cain/Newt or Newt/Cain ticket since Newt resides in Virginia and Cain in Georgia.
not to mention, C-SPAN has it at its archives, available like your home recorder. I see only 47 “likes” to face book and only 6 tweets. Those who do facebook and tweet should give the ‘debate’ some positive comment to raise its vibibility.

Was he perhaps born in Georgia, or lived there for a significant amount of time during his childhood, or college or something?
Perhaps he has two residences? One could have more than one home they own and pay taxes on...
If not, what's your point? This is a thread about THIS debate.
My comment was about the debate, and the two people participating in the debate, and something you said about one of the people in the debate.
If you can’t discuss that in public, don’t bother.
Newt/Cain, Cain/Newt ‘Awesome Team’
I give Alpha Dog to Newt
Theres your Winning Ticket folks !
I’m watching from C-SPAN archives even as I post!
Or, drive a stake...that would be much better. LOL.
I like Newt caww, but you have to admit he’s said stuff before.
However, I’d prefer him to Cain.
What is on now is a reminder to all conservatives just who we are fighting against... socialists like Brokaw.
LOL
Normally in debates they discuss for weeks what each candidate wants in how it’s framed to make them look good or avoid looking bad.
I figured it’s one of the benefits given to Cain - to choose whether to answer first or not.
I couldn’t figure out what Gingrich got as his benefit - wasn’t as obvious. Maybe sitting center stage?
So... nobody’s allowed here who isn’t a Cain/Newt supporter?
you do know what man means right. Perry for the clueless.
Don’t blush. Yours was perhaps the best wrap-up post on the thread. Perfectly, and beautifully stated. Kudos.
Thanks. I thought maybe Cain preferred the lapel pin and Newt preferred holding the mic (esp since Newt spent years teaching college lectures).
not gonna happen
Newt Gingrich was a U.S. congressman from Georgia and SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE from 1995 to 1999. I do not know where he was born or where he grew up...
