Was he perhaps born in Georgia, or lived there for a significant amount of time during his childhood, or college or something?
Perhaps he has two residences? One could have more than one home they own and pay taxes on...

Of course, politicians usually do have a home state home and a D.C. home. And, of course, they can be on the same ticket even if from the same state. I was just wondering which he was claiming as homestead. Either way, he could change it if need be to accommodate and msm questions on the ticket. It's just a matter of paperwork at the local property tax office.
