It could end up a Cain/Gingrich ticket.

Next Saturday, 5 p.m. Pacific, 8 p.m. Eastern - C-Span. Newt and Cain are having a two man debate. Sounds fantastic.

I am soooo sick of the GD Marxist media in this country blowing up this who gives a damn story in their attempt to destroy this good and decent man, while totally ignoring the blatant theft of a billion dollars (or more) by Jon Corzine, who should be in a prison cell by now.

Looks like Newt is gunning for Cain’s VP slot...which is fine.

He has baggage, but God Bless him. Gingrich did the right thing in this case, and it will not be forgotten by Cain supporters, everyone has my word. (I also think he is savvy and sees the tide turning and knows that if you don’t get on board and help a guy that is savaged like this, then it will speak ill of your own Presidential campaign...I wonder who will be next to show up at the party).

Contrast Newt supporting Cain on this with MittsyFlippsy’s comments, which were along the lines, well questions about Herman Cain’s sexual harrassment issues should be directed to Herman Cain, not to me. What a friggin a%$. Kudos to Newt.

Newt’s not stupid, and he’s got to know the quickest way to blow any chances he has to get anywhere in this race would be to pile on.

Defending Cain raises his profile among the field, and it’s a win/win proposition.

If Cain fades (the way all the other alternatives to Romney have), Newt’s the last viable conservative standing. If Cain hangs on and wins, Newt looks good for VP.

But all that aside, as cynical as I usually am, while I’m sure Newt wants to do what’s best for Newt, I still think he knows slamming BO and the press is a whole lot better than getting in p*ssing contest with the rest of the GOP field. And I wouldn’t be surprised if he really is honked off the way the press has beat up on Cain.

In about 2 weeks after Bachman, Sanctorum, even Paul have all spoken up for Herman cain and got praised by the Conservative based for their compassion

FINALLY Romney will put his well manacured finger in the political air and say something as though he is the only one backing Herman Cain...

Until then Willie Mitty will remain silent and snicker to himself...

Politico ran a hit piece, plain and simple. Just as Newt says, what amounts to gossip.

They can’t and wont answer the two questions...exactly what did Herman Cain do? GIve us details. They avoid that question, will not answer it, and give vague language in reply.

And, who are the accusers? Annonymous.

Politico should be skewered and decried by all of the candidates and other media. Instead, the MSM picks it up and runs with it, piling on even more annonymity and vague accusations.

It’s sickeneing.

I believe Cain will come through this...stronger, as his poll numbers continue to climb and people donate more money. Good American people are tired of the PC BS and are tired of good people being brought down by these vile leftists and politiciaans out for their own gain.

I believe he should amke one final statement about this and tell people he done answering inuendo because it is never ending, refuse to take any more questions about it, and move on with his campaign talking about the issues.

I know that unless something a LOT more incriminating comes out instead of she said he said, instead of vague accusations, and annonymity...but even then, it will have to be rock solid testimony backed up by credible witnesses with detailed, incriminating facts...I am going to continue to increase my support for Herman Cain.

They are attacking him because they are scared to death of him...and that’s a good thing and exactly what they need to be.

Newt continues to show he’s an adult in the room. We need more of that in this campaign cycle.

Newt’s “nobility” on this point will actually win him support. Right now, he comes across in Republican circles as the only “adult” on the stage (how scary is that?!). Oh, I still don’t trust Newt as far as I can throw him, but he’s starting to hit his stride, and when he does, he’s one of the BEST politically.
