Totally off-topic, but I heard on the radio they will be transferring to various bases around Iran. I heard Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman(?), and Qatar for starters.

Why? This is the equivalent of the Bracero Program. Surely you have heard about that! It worked great then Carter decided to do away with it when he was President... that was a huge mistake. In a program like this they come here — without their families — work the fields and then return home until the next season...

At least Perry said he misspoke and apologized for saying that, I haven’t heard Cain apologize for calling him a racist because his father leased land with a rock that once had a negative term painted on it when they leased the land and immediately painted over...Perry seems able to say “I screwed up”... I like that about him, because none of us are perfect and we all screw up.

Cain never called Perry a racist. Instead, he agreed with his interviewer that the name on the rock was "insensitive".

A mistaken response, to be sure, but well short of "racist".

And, the very next day, upon hearing the whole story -- including the part about the rock being painted over, then turned over -- he publicly apologized to Perry.

Perry accepted.

You apparently missed that part...

Operation Wetback( not trying to offend that is what is was called) worked too but that doesn’t mean that it would work today. Even the name would not work. The Bracero Program spawned Operation W. Our Northern and Southern boarders are in a sad state worse then during the Bracero Program since we were in World War 2 and needed the labor that is why FDR commissioned the program. I submit to you labor is not a problem the availability of jobs is. They had control with a max of 444,000 in 1957. Now the states and for that matter the country cannot handle the extra influx of people. The government has not been able to control anything and do you actually trust the feds to conduct this mass immigration with out corruption? So what happens when the participants fade into illegal activity or worse commit terrorist acts?

If they have work visas, they are not illegal., and have been ID’d. Not a problem.

Yes, the Perry bashers are here. Note the headline. If you have a work visa you are not illegal.

Perry continues to demonstrate why he is unfit to be President. He so brazenly and openly advocates violating our nations laws. Of all the people the President should always advocate vociferously upholding the law’s of the land. If he should get elected then everyone should be able to obey or disobey any law s/he chooses to. After all what is good for the goose is good for the gander, isn’t it!? Perry is shameless!!

“I just heard today that employers in CALIFORNIA are voluntarily using E-Verify in great numbers.”

According to one clown on this thread, they’re probably all getting fined for using it. LOL.

“How would you get rid of them? “

STOP CODDLING THEM. This country is 230 years old. For most of that time we were a much wealthier nation than Mexico. This Illegal problem only started 30 years ago when we started CODDLING THEM, be it through court rulings, government programs ‘looking the other way’, subsidized tuition.

So, make life uncomfortable for them, and THEY WILL LEAVE, just like they started leaving Alabama, after they took some SMALL STEPS in that direction.

It seems that you guys are here to simply repeat the same garbage over and over.

AKA, make them self-deport. A win-win for America and tax payers.

“AKA, make them self-deport. A win-win for America and tax payers. “

It certainly worked under Ike. They’ll do it again, once they realize that there’s no more gold up north.

But the Perry clowns will continue to try to convince us that it will NEVER happen. I guess their think is that the Illegals will stay put and starve to death?

I've found that there is no discussing logic with the Perrywinkles. They refuse to listen to reason or logic. They are like a spoiled child, they only know what they want and they want it now and consequences be damned.

Don’t bother thinking we’ll make headway with the Perrybots, they’re mostly paid hacks and most people on this site already know that. What we’re doing now is speaking to the other 99.9% of FReepers...so we’ll keep at it, and at least neutralize them.

I think the last 20 or 30 years that Americans have probably not had enough children. Many Americans go to college today and get better paying jobs. There seems to be a need for the more labor intensive work. Yes illegals will work for less, but that is probably needed in some buisnesses. Look around at all the illegals working right now. Don’t you think if Americans really wanted to do that work that A- the illegals would not have been hired to start with. Most Americans have a certain sense of entitlement today that the illegals do not have. They make better employees a lot of the time. That is why people are letting them work.

I’m all for putting them out and securing the border. Nobody is harder on that than I am. I think we should get them out of here. Simple, Americans need to have more children and the border needs to be secured. Plus deport them.
