“How would you get rid of them? “
STOP CODDLING THEM. This country is 230 years old. For most of that time we were a much wealthier nation than Mexico. This Illegal problem only started 30 years ago when we started CODDLING THEM, be it through court rulings, government programs ‘looking the other way’, subsidized tuition.
So, make life uncomfortable for them, and THEY WILL LEAVE, just like they started leaving Alabama, after they took some SMALL STEPS in that direction.
It seems that you guys are here to simply repeat the same garbage over and over.
AKA, make them self-deport. A win-win for America and tax payers.
We have a gov’t trillions in debt because of the bozos who run the gov’t. Do you think they are going to stop coddling the mexicans ? I would love to see it.
Absolutely, stop the feds from “looking the other way.”
It would also be a help if the Courts would allow us to charge tuition or refuse to educate the children in k-12 if illegal. After all, if I decide to drive my kids over to the other school district here in my town, I would either be denied or charged tuition, unless I could show some compelling cause.
I’ve been reading up on the history of the “Braceros Program.” In the past, we’ve had guest workers when we needed them (WWII), then sent them home when we didn’t (when the GI’s returned after WWII).
There is the problem of skills. Picking lettuce and other vegetables actually requires some experience.
And then, there’s the problem of our own entitlements and society that discourage people from doing this sort of labor, even when growers are desperate as they were in Georgia and Arizona, this year. At the least, we should be using prison labor — maybe all those “non-violent” illegals the the Obama administration want to release. And perhaps, there should be some sort of requirement for those on unemployment and other assistance. (My aunts, uncles, cousins and parents worked seasonally in the fields in the 40’s and 50’s. My husband even tried bailing hay for a week or so in the ‘70’s.)
