my thoughts on OCCUPY WALL STREET

Posted on 10/18/2011 9:06:03 PM PDT by mamelukesabre

I have mostly remained silent on OWS because I think OWS has been getting a little bit of an unfair rap by right wingers and conservative talk shows. I cannot stand marxists and I especially loath the stereotypical pot smoking 60s era marxist pacifist hippie movement and anything else that even slightly resembles it...such as environmentalism.

But I am very angry about bailouts and banks and unscrupulous trading of these fraudulent securities the banks invented. I am almost as angry about these things as I am the government's role in the mess we are in.

I think OWS is not all about the hippie trash trying to destroy capitalism as most conservatives seem to think. I think that is only one of many factions participating. But I am having a hard time getting myself enthused about supporting the OWS movement because I fear that this current administration will try to use OWS as an excuse to limit/punish capitalism and capitalists even more than it is.

So why can't conservatives just take over the OWS movement rather than denounce it? Why doesn't the tea party go full force to OWS rallies and take over? Why should conservatives oppose OWS and by doing so appear to be in favor of the abuses of capitalism and the meddling of capitalism by government? It seems to me the libertarians are already there at the OWS rallies and you know damn well no libertarian will ever be in favor of marxism. If conservatives threw their weight into the OWS movement, the marxist hippies would be an insignificant minority and would no longer have any say about the movement.

The OWS goons are human debris and every breath taken by those Soros-funded thugs is a waste of good oxygen. They're also controlled by union mobsters. The labor movement (along with the minimum wage) form a twin-evil that hampers American free enterprise and our economic might.

That traitorous, filthy crowd is utterly evil (much like the Nazis -- National Socialists) and has nothing to do with patriotic Conservatives and the grassroots pro-America Tea Party movement.

That’s the point, they (the OWS’s) don’t have any leadership. I wouldn’t even think of taking over their movement, because I don’t believe in their socialist, marxist, communist ways! You sir, seem to be cozying up to them if you want to work with them. Again I say, ZOT?

There’s your sign.

If you believe there is not an entity behind the scenes pulling the strings on these marionettes participating in this “protest”, you are naive. These people are NOT interested in a capitalist system, and those who are controlling things want to crash and burn capitalism. We hold nothing in common with them, and we should not participate. Instead, we should be demonstrating at every turn possible the difference between people out looking for hand-outs and those of us who just want the government off our backs.

Don't be fooled by that. Soros is funding this BS and the vast majority of those folks have no idea what they are protesting.

Some friends and I were visiting NYC last week and encountered them marching on Broadway at Wall Street last Monday. Then, as we proceeded on our walk, we came arrived at Zuccotti Park. We hung around, observed and snapped a few pics.

I'll be fair in stating that they were polite and friendly to us overall (even though we made it clear we were not supporters.)

This is essentially their Woodstock. They're living in self-imposed squalid conditions, getting high, banging bongo drums and most of them are either old hippies or very young adults who just want to do the "cool" thing.

There are generators powering laptop stations, etc. and tents in the park. Several of them are sipping lattes from the nearby Starbucks and have sales kiosks set up while protesting consumerism.

They have no clue what their "mission" is and are just enjoying all of the attention and Soros-bucks.

This guy seems like a sympathizer of OWS, and should be more careful posting stuff like this. Just saying!

“They have no clue what their “mission” is”

Yet....but there are a full 1/3 ready to carry out violence to complete it...

This is just the gathering...the rest comes a bit later...

And the rest always comes...

Conservatives can not simply take over the OWS movement because Conservatives have NOTHING IN COMMON with the OWS movement. If you loathe Marxists as you state, you should know that the OWS crowd has picked up endorsements from BOTH the Communists and the NAZIS. There is a FR Article about it. Perhaps you should revisit your own understanding of who are Marxists and who are Conservatives.

As I stated above, Conservatives have absolutely nothing in common with the OWS crowd... and I am very much thankful for that.

Because they are a bunch of kooks.

Let the “good” ones come over and join a Tea Party association and change our government the Constitutional way.

‘nuff said.

You're far much kinder than I. These protoplasmic entities are sub-human in my book.

And these apostles of Soros/Marx are proponents of atheistic humanism. Their targets also include Christians. I'd like to see the NYPD adopt a real get tough policy with these treasonous commie goons.

I know they have an unnamed leader in Soros, but no one on the streets. This is how liberals always come up with crowds. They have a big roller doll out cash to people to hang around.

Plus, when could law abiding conservatives take over anything? We are not of that ilk and thank God we’re not. The bailouts, I thought they were paid back. I hate the thought of the “Hegelian dialect” taking place here, the far left and the far right converging and doing exactly what the lefties want! Frustrating.

Putting more taxes and burden on economic opportunity....what’s the point in being successful?

It sounds good and “fair”....but it doesn’t stop with just being “wealthy”.

Ok...I guess I have to SHOW YOU...

Where was the first “official” statement from OWS posted?

http://billayers.wordpress.com/2011/10/05/occupy-wall-street-collective-statement-of-the-protesters/

All roads lead right back to the usual domestic terrorists and their supporters...

It was even called “days of rage” before it was called OWS...

To see the depth of the water one must look past the surface...

The most interesting first hand account yet, Allegra. Thanks. Lattes and kiosks? I suppose they have to entertain the media somewhere.

Yes, I know.

That’s why I am trying to discourage anyone from believing that these people are about being against the bail-outs.

The invisible leaders are of the Bill Ayers ilk.

If the tea party movement had stayed on message against the bailouts, against crony capitalism, and corporatisim, against waste fraud and abuse in government, we would have the moral high ground right now.

However, the tea party movement was infiltrated and co-opted to a large degree and lost focus.

Most Americans are still angry about the things I listed in the above. OWS is only partially addresssing this anger, but they are scooping the tea party on its own original message.

OWS will become (and already has to some degree) become co-opted by the left wing fringe ... communists, anarchists, anti-capitalists and people who just hate anyone more wealthy and successful than they are ... but that doesn’t mean they won’t carry a lot of people along in the meantime and some of them have common ground with the original tea partiers.

Too bad these groups are always co-opted and spread thin with too many agendas. If we could stand together on some of the more pressing economic and fraud issues would could scare the hell out of politicians.
