We had been doing touristy stuff on a beautiful Indian-summer day - Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. We were walking up Broadway from Battery Park in the late afternoon, headed for some cocktails and dinner and they came streaming down the sidewalk, flanked by police, waving signs and chanting. (We were taunting them - FReeping them as it were - yelling things like "Big Oil! Big Oil! Exxon-Mobil! Halliburton!" and some of the cops were laughing. LOL)
Zuccotti Park is right on Broadway - not a very big park at all.
I'm really glad we happened upon all of that or we'd never have known about the generators or their sales kiosks. We wouldn't have known about the Starbucks and McDonald's right across the street that are jammed with those people, either.
They're against capitalism and consumerism??? Riiiiight.
The media sure isn't showing or saying anything about any of that.
