The TEA (Taxed Enough Already) party sprang up in spontaneous rebellion to big government's big spending, big taxing ways. TARP, the bailouts, the PORKULUS package and ObamaCare lit the fuse. TEA partiers support the constitution's limited government restrictions. TEA partiers are non-partisan, i.e., we oppose the big government, big spending, big taxing moves of both the major political parties.
This is an open rebellion against business as usual big spending, overreaching government! We demand a return to constitutionally limited government!!
The socialist/progressive Democrat party is our natural enemy and they understand that and attack us accordingly.
The big government RINO socialist/progressive wing of the Republican party is also our natural enemy and they attack us accordingly. They fear us, but they NEED us. They despise us, spit on us, call us right-wing extremists and hateful bigots, but beg us for our votes. They EXPECT us to bend over in the end and willingly accept their BIG GOVERNMENT candidates and programs without any real opposition.
Oh, they may try to sugar coat it a bit, and placate us here and there with some smooth talk, and toss us a bone from time-to-time with conservative head feints, but it's clear they have no intention of ever changing their evil progressive ways.
The progressive wing of the GOP does not really comprehend that the TEA party rebellion is aimed squarely at THEM!!
They believe that we have nowhere else to go and that fear of an Obama second term will compel us to vote for a Republican version of BIG GOVERNMENT, big spending, big taxing, constitution ignoring progressive liar of a candidate.
Got news for them.
The TEA party rebellion is made up of tens of millions of liberty-loving, patriotic citizens who are totally fed up with corrupt, lying, two-faced, smooth-talking, big government socialists, corrupt crony capitalist bastard, progressives, Marxists, etc, and it makes no difference to us which party they belong to. And we're madder than hell and loaded for bear!!
This is OPEN REBELLION at the ballot box!!
TEA party hating elite establishment, Romney, Rove & Co., had best get used to it. Your any RINO but Obama gig is up!!
The TEA party is here to stay and we're NOT going to vote for your big government, TARP pushing, PORKULUS pushing, RomneyCare pushing, gun-grabbing, abortionist, gay-rights pushing, global warming advocating, mandate-loving, anti-Reagan, anti-liberty, socialist/progressive, flavor of the day RINO, the chief architect and advocate of ObamaCare, Mitt Romney!!
FUMR!! FUGOP!!
TEA partiers unite against Obama/Romney!!
The progressive GOP be damned!!
Long live the Republic!!
“What is our plan other than to generate lots of blog posts?” <<<<<
Unite and inform the RNC would be a nice start, but for the Tea Party orgs that will settle. A nice formal campaign with actual noise?
Inaccurate, classless and below the belt
nuff’ said
The MSM did the exact same thing in 2008 - “Oh, no, if John McCain gets the nomination it’s all over for the Democrats! He’s the one that they REALLY don’t want to have to run against.....” And McCain ate it up! Boy, was he shocked when they all turned on him once he was the candidate!
Now, the same thing is playing out with Romney - the MSM is trying to convince us that he’s the ONLY one who can beat Obama....so we’ll all fall into line and get behind him like good little Republicans! Then, BAM, the dirt will start coming out - every negative story about Romney they’ve been sitting on will suddenly be on the front page.
Sorry, kids, we won’t get fooled again! I held my nose to vote for McCain but I will NOT vote for Romney EVER! McCain is just a confused, cranky, beltway suck-up who wants everyone to like him (Bob Dole-round II) but I really believe that Romney is dangerous and we need to work like crazy to make sure he is not the nominee!
Think of how much progress we have made since 2008. We only then had Sarah in the forefront, but she was not enough to push Juan McCain over the finish line. Then people voted for Obama because he said he would unite us, would not treat us like red and blue states, etc, etc, hope and change, no media checking into his background, etc, etc.
Then he wins, and what's the first thing out of his mouth? I won.
Then we had, in quick succession, gays in the military, Card-Check, Nobel prize for what?, Cambridge police acting stupidly, Carbon credits, Obamacare, and from this the TEA party was born.
We stood up to the dems, but it wasn't enough. So we got Nancy's big gavel and a haughty in your face walk across the Mall. We got our payback in 2010 when we took back the House and kicked her a$$ out of the Speakers chair. In 2012 we'll take back the rest. Sure, a RINO or two gets swept in by all the euphoria, but seriously, we're winning now. KEEP UP THE PRESSURE!
Seriously, given the arrogance and FAILURE of Obama, next year should be our biggest chance since Reagan. That chance I speak of is the ascent of true small government conservatism in the Republican party.
Yep...all of the above. Now go and sulk. It is after all what you are good at.
If there's a clique here, I'm not privileged to be a part of it. What I see is other people questioning your odd interpretation of Cain's "lawbreaking" and scratching their heads over what your issue is. Don't try to palm that off on me.
I stated my position clearly but yet you want to somehow twist and contort it into something beyond the meaning. My comment was NOT disparaging a black man drinking from a white water fountain. It was the fact that Cain came up with this tale after being attacked for not marching in civil rights demonstrations.
If your problem is that his "tale" came up after the criticism that's one thing. For me, it was not AT ALL clear that's what your position was. In either case, I disagree.
Keep your blinders on wb; when you finally take them off you will see the desolation left behind by someone who, like his predecessor, has no clue. Someone who governs acording to color instead of according to the constitution
If you could only see how this ridiculous statement reveals your heart. I'm sorry you can't, and won't, and I'm sorry this will lead you to (probably) vote for someone like Romney.
Fat Chance!
Here's the problem with your idea: By supporting Romney, you legitimize liberalism. You also legitimize the idea of two major parties "taking turns" being in charge, while continually running the country into the ground.
I say no. No to Romney, no to any other RINO, and if the Republicans are stupid enough to nominate a RINO, then they don't get my vote.
RINO:
ROMNEY
IS
NOT
OURS
Cain has said he would agree to run as Romney’s VP - but not as Perry’s. What does that make Herman Cain?
Just the fact that you were listening to NPR makes you suspect. Then when you apparently took issue with Cain for saying how he was drinking from the "whites only" fountain - well, I rest my case.
God Bless you for stating, so clearly and succinctly, EXACTLY why I joined FreeRepublic six years ago and became a monthly donor. FreeRepublic is America's finest defense against the unconstitutional, unlawful, immoral growth of big government. I am proud to join the Tea Party and raise my voice with yours and others against creeping... hell, MARCHING socialism and spending!
Thank you for FreeRepublic and may God continue to bless you, FreeRepublic and the fine folks that work on FR, and most of all, America!!

The two parties have been in control since 1860. They have made every rule in such a way that third parties are always counter productive. Third party efforts, if effective, always elect the cadidate they like least.
The direction of our nation and its laws can be changed. But the only way that works is to take over one of the two major parties. The Republican party of Teddy Roosevelt was pretty liberal and the Democratic party of that time was pretty conservative. The Deomcrats were dominated by the South where states rights, low taxes, and very limited federal goverment was quite popular. It was the Roosevelt type liberals of the north that dominated the Republican party in the first two decades of this century. But by the mid 1920’s conservatives had taken over the Republican party too. As someone said their was not a dimes worth of difference between the two parties.
But the left under the mantle of FDR took over the Democratic party. Using party loyalty they got FDR elected president. Twenty years of FDR made the conservative Democratic party into the liberal Democratic party.
In the South the consrvative Democrats started to move to the Republican party and in new England the liberal Republicans started to move to the Democratic party.
For the first 30 years of the last century the Progressive party tried to make an impact. It Failed. It tried to move the nation to the left and it failed. FDR figured out how to do it and made the Democrats a Leftist party.
But third party people for the most part are afraid to try to move into control a major party. They don’t think they could succeed. But the fact is no movement goes from a party with one or two percent support to a party with over 50 percent support in an instant. What they do is take votes from the major party most like them, thus electing the major party least like them. The third party never gets enough votes to win. If the party least like them fails, that results in the dominance of the party most like them and it takes their voters back. That takes them out of the game completely.
But the splinter parties never learn. They keep thinking that they can go from next to nothing to over 50 percent in one election cycle. It has never happened. It never will.
What does a major party do when a splinter party takes a few million votes from them? They look at the few million the splinter party got and say we need all those plus some of the other party to win. Geting the splinter party votes will make some of our voters move to the other party. So that is not a solution. They conclude that the thing to do is to move closer to the other major parties positions. What would happens in real life if the libertarians ever get enough votes to take down a Republican, the Republicans will just move to the left as a result. They will figure getting 6 percent of the Democrat votes would be enought for a Republican victory while getting 100 percent of the libertarian votes would not.
The solution to change is what it has been for 140 years. Get in one of the existing party and change it to your liking.
Barry Goldwater tried it in the Republican party and failed. Reagan did it in the Republican party and succeeded. Back when the Demcocratic party was still dominated by Conservatives, Reagan was a Democrat. But he saw the liberals were well on theway to total control of the Democrats, so he became a Republican and took that party away from the Jerry Fords and other left leaning Republicans.
Will libertarians be astute enough to try a wining approach? Not likely. Third parties just never seem to learn.
So what if Mittens puts a real conservative on the ticket like McCain did? Will this place be supporting Romney by ommission or will FR be advocating voting for a alternate conservative party?
Let’s just agree to disagree. Voting for Romney? Hope it doesn’t get to that point. I’m sure as hell not interested in a slick talker filled with rhetoric. Apparently you are. Have at it.
He was so right.. it disgusts me when I see Republicans trying to ruin the GOP..and im also disgusted that there are no “traditional democrats” trying to save their party
I miss Common Tator
ATRW thread I used to visit in the mornings.
Look, you got your choice between mr wide open borders, romneycare, and mr nein-nein-nein. There’s nothing there that fits the bill. Yeah yeah, I know the tea partiers are ga ga over cain...for some unknown reason. I don’t see anything spectacular.
when are we going to D.C. to sit in around/ring our house and hold it until the ruling class gives it back......
Hate to burst your bubble, but Romney is no Reagan. Romney despises Reagan.
“I’m not going back to Reagan-Bush. I was an independent during Reagan-Bush (spit!)” —Mitt Romney
Romney is not the one!! No Romney on my watch!!
