Step 1: The first rule of the establishment is: Do not admit you are part of the establishment! Step 2: Disarm them with praise Step 3: Moderate whoever they pick as the 2012 nominee. Step 4: Teach them about compromise. Step 5: Never forget reality

Rush and Drudge have sources all over the world, of all sorts. So what?
Even the Atlantic gets a few right -- they wrote up the "blood diamond" trade 20 years ago, and they got the "pigs at the trough" Stockman interview that told us all about what Manor Bush was made of, and what they were making of the Reagan Administration. It was their access-capitalist slimepals that made first Bill Clinton, and then Barack Obama the President of the United States.
And we almost got Hillary, who'd have made Slick the first God Emperor of Earth -- if she could.
Once in a while they get a quote, just like rattlesnakes' rattles can occasionally do you a favor. And you want to burn a source just to poison the well for Rick Perry?
Explain.
If she left, she never was our General Grant, was she?
Great responses.
A group with any organization at all, any direction, will attract politician(s) who scramble to get to the front so they can yell ‘follow me!’. I suspect the Tea Party’s best ‘good’ will come from electing like-minded people at the state and local level, going up to the House/Senate in some cases. It will be a long, hard slog, but just the fact that the RINOs and ‘Rats hate us and are scared shi(t)tless by us should tell us something. As Jim might say, ‘Rebellion is brewing!’
Freepers blabbering about how any viable candidate is a RINO is damaging our chances of ever having a decent conservative candidate.
Yup, yup, definitely sensitive -- I definitely found paydirt with that one!
Any other Perrywinkle want to raise her hand and 'fess up?
These elitists have political and social views far different from you, and they look upon you as useful rabble to do their dirty work and toe the line to support their preselected candidates. In that regard, they look upon you in the same way democrats look upon blacks and the poor - resources to exploit, but never to listen to.
For all his evil and destructiveness, Obama is a temporary phenomenon. America will not fail because of Obamas disastrous term, no more so than it did after Carter or the Civil War. If it fails, it will be because Obamas replacement, by political necessity and dearth of other options a Republican, will be a RINO who differs in degree, not in kind from Obama and his policies. The true conservative, the Reagan successor, will not be around to save America this time.
bttt
In order to execute a rhetorical fallacy called "poisoning the well"? Example: "All stories in The New York Times are lies, and therefore nothing printed in same can ever be used or relied upon." That's poisoning the well.
And you would do that just to help ..... Rick Perry?
The author, Elspeth Reeve, is a left-winger who has written for Time. Please tell me why one should pay attention to her writing.
How far left is the republican party allowed to extend?
Who will you try to force feed us next, Bloomberg?
What is of interest is that the Tea Party Express has decided to spend all their goodwill and effort to date on an endorsement of Perry. Gov. Walker's a nice get, he's been in the news, and he's a good conservative. But it's still an endorsement -- and that shows the difference between the real Tea Party movement and the Tea Party Express. They're good people at TPE, and I don't derogate them (I question their choice! certainly), but they are not the Tea Party, and they just proved it. It's a significant political development for the attentive.
+1
......by not falling for Perry.
Nope, other way around, dear. Perry is the fungible, available, play-ball guy, the Judas horse the RiNO's want us to follow into their Luserville corral.
As our FRiend Deb keeps telling the other posters, we "purist" conservatives who refuse to roll over for Rollable Rick are just electing Obama ...... when the opposite is true.
A vote now for a RiNO is a vote next year for Obama.
There, girls, how do you like your rhetorical gimmick being played back to you? A little false dichotomy, anyone? -- and try the ad hom sauce, it's delicious.
Ping and double ping. Gov. Palin made a decision to not run for president. It does not change a thing. We as individuals must do our part—even if it means we must get off our fast asses and be counted.
Well, you say, what does that mean? That means you get involved in local politics. Who is it in your town who’s serving up RINOs? That means you attend board of ed meetings. That means you challenge the teacher’s union thugs who’ve taken them over. That means you have to pay attention and educate yourself. Why is it only Palin’s responsibility to be informed and take the fight to the enemy?
You want to see change? Make it happen!
“Wrong. He’s your candidate. I won’t vote for one liberal over another. Those days are over.”
Heard the same thing in 2008. Saw what that led to.
That you would so cavalierly dismiss a part of the Tea Party movement you disagree with is quite telling.
