Step 1: The first rule of the establishment is: Do not admit you are part of the establishment! Step 2: Disarm them with praise Step 3: Moderate whoever they pick as the 2012 nominee. Step 4: Teach them about compromise. Step 5: Never forget reality

Compromise DC style. Dem says to Pubbie. I want your apple. Pubbie says no, I am making an apple dumpling. This goes on for a while. Dem says you must compromise. Media reports Pubbie is un reasonable. Finally Pubbie says ok, but just 1 bite.

Dem takes the bite, and immediately begins to whine that it wasn't enough, and he wants another bite at the apple. Mean Pubbie is starving others by not sharing. Media reports on Pubbie’s bad behavior and shows a crowd of “starving” dems.

Pubbie relents and allows another bite. This continues one bite at a time until the Pubbie is left with just the core, so he picks up a pear, and the whole process begins again.

At some point the Pubbies need to draw a line in the sand, and begin making the other side compromise, pushing the dems back from the cliff where they are trying to push us into the abyss.

The Tea party began while Palin was still in Alaska being Governor.

She is not responsible for it, nor is she responsible for why we have disappeared.

The Tea party was never supposed to have politicians as leaders. That hurts more than it helps.

It was a citizen thing that held all politicians feet to the fire.

Problem we really have is that it has been co-opted by politicians.

Now, eveyone sits back waiting for a leader rather than doing the work that we began with.

Yeah, we all need to worry about picking someone “who can win” as opposed to insisting our values are represented and respected by politicians.

The economy is BOOMING and everyone is getting wealthy because of the great job the establishment politicians have been doing so we owe them all our support, right?

Wrong.

They broke it. We have to fix it.

,,,,,,,,, the republican establishment just doesn’t get it ,,,,,, the Tea Party is Americana and we’re tired of compromising with the socialist enemy . That’s how we got in this mess ,,, a bunch of RINOs trying to get along with liberals and trading pet projects for congressional votes on unpopular bills instead of holding to any conservative value system . Today there is little difference between the liberal democRATs and the establishment RINO republicans . The TEA PARTY may just be the RIGHT cure for the liberal disease and a few more election cycles should bare witness to this trend .

Please cite for me a successful movement that did not have leaders? I am racking my brain trying to recall one. Best I can come up with is maybe the labor movement of the late 1800’s. Maybe.

#5 Is good advice that I don’t think that most GOP establishment types would agree with.

From the NY Slimes article:

“But maybe all the moment requires is someone who can pass as a broadly acceptable alternative — a candidate who doesn’t project the Tea Party extremism of Michele Bachmann or the radical isolationism of Ron Paul. “If we have a Rick Perry versus Mitt Romney battle for the nomination, it’s a little hard to say, ‘Ooh, the party has really gone off the rails,’ ” Kristol told me just after Perry entered the race, a development that essentially ended Bachmann’s brief ascent. Establishment Republicans may prefer Romney to Perry, but their assumption is that either man can be counted on to steer the party back toward the broad center next fall, effectively disarming the Tea Party mutiny.”

Don’t let the Party Boys Establishment pick the candidate for you. If the establishment-types don’t like a candidate, we should give that candidate a second look.

The Ruling Establishments

In 1776 it was the British. In 1828 it was the Federalists. In 1860 it was the Whigs. In 1912 it was the Republicans. In 1980 it was the Democrats. And now it is the progressive crony capitalists of both parties. We wont get rid of them in 2012, just like we didn't get rid of them in 1980. A true collapse of the economy will have to occur before we can throw them out and start the rebuilding out of the ashes.

Wow, no wonder they were so desperately trying to paint Cain in cahoots with Romney. It all makes total sense now.

The Tea Party is very much alive, and after the next election, everyone will know it. As soon as Sarah Palin announced she wasn’t running, all the media and the Republican establishment jumped onto the “Tea Party is dead” band wagon. The Tea Party isn’t Sarah Palin. It is patriots who love America, believe in America, believe in the Constitution and conservative principles. We believe in liberty, freedom and private property. We believe in the power of the individual to succeed with hard work. We believe free people don’t need big government to be responsible for them. We believe in putting Americans first. We believe in prosperity and posterity, from protected border to protected border. If the Tea Party is dead, America is dead, and I don’t see it that way.

If the establishment continues along these lines, then within the next decade there will be a political realignment along the lines of Republicans/Whigs.

The new Party will be TEA Party. At that point I may needto change my handle to “Grunthor, TP.”

This is exactly why having Freepers blabbering about how they will vote for a RINO as a last resort is damaging our chances of ever having a decent candidate.

OUCH! I resemble that remark and swear I will not indulge again.
