Me too, but I don’t consider them bigots that hate catholics. In my case, they have serious problems with the Catholic organization and the Pope specifically, and have some good scripture references to back it up.
IOW, they make a fairly reasonable case. I don’t agree with them, but they are not the crazies some would have you believe. Then again, my family is not yours. :-D

Done with Perry? You haven’t been a Perry man to begin with. You know I have friends I consider a bit of a wacko, but they are friends. I haven’t adopted their beliefs in fact, I’ve tried to point out the error of their beliefs. Rubber stamping Perry cause he is a friend of this man is a bit strange. Perry didn’t ask this man to introduce him...the Values Voter Conference did.

I’m Catholic, but I can’t get outrages about this. This guy has no effect on my life. But others do.
Plenty of 'em here, too. My old church is full of 'em - people who used to be our friends but shunned us when they learned of our conversion. Sad people, really.
Considering that Michelle Bachmann got a pass for her long-time membership in a church which teaches that the pope is the anti-Christ, there seems to be a double standard here—this isn’t the pastor of the church Perry attends.

If we want to be offended, all non Catholics can be offended that the Catholic church's official teaching is that unless one is a Catholic, they are doomed to hell.
Let's forget the whole thing. This is not worth the fight. I am not a Catholic but I have Catholic family and friends. I have no desire for an argument. They are Christians.
For the most part a person's religion is a very poor predictor of how the person would govern. The only religion that would throw up a red flag would be Islam--no Muslims!! If that makes me a bigot, so be it. But Islam gives me two choices, either convert or be killed.
