Unfortunately, it looks like the forces of smear, slander, and threat have finally claimed their intended victim. With Palin's announcement that she won't run for president, the election is essentially over.
The calculus is fairly simple: the media and GOP establishment want Romney to be the nominee. Once a progressive is at the head of the Republican ticket, low turnout for Republicans will hand a narrow victory to Obama.
So here is how the election will go. The media hasn't seriously opened up on Herman Cain, but most assuredly they will. Cain has been in business for decades, and the liberal media will troll through every relationship, every business deal, every word he has ever spoken. If that fails, the lies will start. To see evidence of this, we need not look at far as Palin. Rick Perry, another progressive, was attacked for something that someone painted on a rock on land his family leased out. That narrative will be used to attack both Perry and Cain -- Perry for having "allowed" it and Cain for making a big deal over "nothing." Both narratives will be forwarded, potentially in the same program. Once the liberal media goes through Cain's past with a fine-toothed comb, they will doubtless find disgruntled business adversaries, accusations of infidelity, and more.
If Palin had been in the race, the smear tactics would have failed, as the establishment and media threw everything they could possibly throw to get her out of the race. Who knows what her personal reasons, in her heart of hearts, were for not running? Perhaps she feared for the safety of her family. At any rate, there is no other conservative that has as much of a head start on the slander as Palin did....

Indeed. Obama's worst nightmare of debates would be to go up against Cain - in essence the much more intelligent, experienced, and self-reliant "dad" he never had.
BTW, Leno made slurs about Palin and I switched to Letterman who made pretty much the same comments. It was as if both had gotten the same memo and commented within seconds of each other.
And all in the vain hope of electing a swaggering open-borders moron who gives every appearance of running multiple slush funds for fun and profit, and keeps referring to how his home state does things while running for national office.
And who who is so monumentally stupid that he had Romney walk across his sights on flip-flopping, and couldn't even deliver a straight shot at point-blank range without putting his foot in his mouth and then shooting himself in the foot instead.
And don't forget his statist impulses, from Gardasil to eminent domain for the Trans-Texas Corridor (expressway from Mexico to the heart of the US); nor his tuition breaks for illegal aliens.
Perry is the wrong man for Texas, not just the country; it is merely a measure of the extreme corruption in Texas and theincompetence of "the stupid party" even at the state level that led to him being governor.
Now go hump Obaama's leg.
Cheers!
“She has been through more crap than any other Political person in History”
Really???
What a wuss.
I second that opinion. Edmund, would you agree?
Obama isn’t even popular amongst his base these days! He has to gin up a marxist protest to show his solidarity. He did the only thing he has ever been able to do agitate and organize a protest. I would crawl across broken glass to vote Obama OUT of office in 2012! Hopefully alot of people will show there displeasure at the polls.
It seems that the Media is going to focus on Authenticity of Race with Cain...this is a failing issue. Even if it does work to turn of some voters they will only be Black voters who vote Democrat 90% anyhow. Support CAIN and have faith!!!
God wins in the end, but that may be centuries away.
I'm of the opinion that odds favor a Romney nomination. I do agree that any “moderate” nominated by the Republican Party will suffer the same result they always do, a loss.
I'm also still anticipating should Romney be the nominee, there will be a major Third Party candidate, which I concede will also give Obama a second term.
However, while the true political powers in our Country are quite capable of strongly influencing Presidential elections, they have less influence on Senate races, and very little direct influence on Congressional races. That would seem to be the path of least resistance for a Conservative renaissance, the Congress.
Presidential candidates usually have coat tails. If there were a charismatic Conservative Tea Party member to run as a Third Party candidate, it's possible that we could then gain seats in the House and perhaps the Senate. While this wouldn't give us an ideological leadership change at the top, it could create complete gridlock. Added to that, the House does control the purse strings of our Government. While legislative monsters such as Obamacare and Dodd/Frank would not be rescinded, a true Conservative Congress could refuse to fund these beasts.
Maybe we're in a place in history where our change cannot come from the top down, rather from the bottom up.
Agreed...
The conservative growth in this country is not about one person and their run for office...the left tried this with Obama and it is not helping them, even with the public schools and the media working with them.
We cannot pin our “hope” on one person and throw in the towel when that person does not do what we want them to do...work from the idea and help develop more people that have the same ideals...that is where we will win.
The establishment GOP is playing two cards, Romney and Perry. Other than Cain, with Palin's departure, all of their other potential challengers have been vanquished.
I believe obama is supremely beatable, even by an establishment candidate, but Romney and Perry are not going to win over the Tea Party.
If either is the nominee, then it will come down to how much the country hates obama rather than how much they want the latest and greatest rino.
Just like last time, only it's all McCain and no Palin and obama gets a second term...unless he's impeached first.
I've come to believe that the establishment GOP is just fine with obama being POTUS and they long ago embraced the progressive agenda.
The process of elimination leads me to Newt since Sarah declined the opportunity to lead
Romney RINO
Perry not ready, weak on illegals
Cain no experience
Paul nutty
Bachman nutty with no experience
So the last man standing is Newt, Yeah Newt has a train load of baggage, but is smart, he is experienced and pretty good at getting things done if his feet are held to the fire. So if this is the GOP field then I think Newt is the best man in it. Also Newt like Sarah has taken a lot of heat from the propagandists in the Marxist media and survived so he also is vetted.
Totally agree. The current polling which has excluded Palin shows Obama losing, losing, losing.
I want a conservative candidate, but we aren’t the only ones who vote.
Well stated...and you may be right...”The long term answer might be a Third Party ticket”
This should be a very interesting time.
Right back at you.
Your hate filled, insult laden posts and endless anti-Perry rants are tired and boring. Stop your whining, crying and obsessing over Sarah. She isn't running just like so many people tried to tell you for months. Grow up and get over it.
(...and he's going to need a V.P. ...)
Perhaps true but Obama had the mainstream media on his side to help him win. Had she entered the race maybe she would have gotten comparable numbers to Romney, Cain, Perry by now...put her in primaries, see if she wins, etc.
However she never got into the race, and decided to let people
know it was a definite “no”. She was getting close to the deadlines to get her name on the ballot. If she really wanted to run she would have run earlier. Maybe she would have won, who knows. But all this just gives off the following vibes:
—She’s indecisive. Other candidates were getting in,
and later out, of the race. Eventually she would have
thought, “I’d better get in now”. She did not. And now
with the deadlines approaching she was forced to finally
say, “no”. Who wants a president who would be so indecisive? Yes it’s important to take your time and make
the right decision but really. Again, had she entered maybe she
would have gotten in debates, got good poll numbers, etc.
but she held off.
—She gives the impression that even if she says she’s
doing what she’s doing for the good of the country and her party, she’ll still give off the vibe that all this is really just for money. Speaking engagements, books. May not be true, indeed, but people get the impression.
She already has faced the media making fun of her, etc.
but the media (most of them) would not be on her side,
unlike Obama. It would have been great if she went through the campaign and proved a conservative could win, but
she comes off as indecisive.
Those debates, etc., those straw polls, where’s Sarah?
If she’s serious about running she would have entered. And yes people say “oh Reagan didn’t get in till such and such a time”. But that was then, this is now. Others were getting in and getting the spotlight.
She was not in the race. The “quitter” tag will hurt her
if she does run eventually, btw. Reagan did not quit as
governor. Mitt Romney won one term and decided not to
run for a second—but that’s different than resigning
mid-term. Even if she had a hell of a lot of good reasons,
she looks bad. Not a fighter?
Though yes “family comes first”. And thus it is that she
does not run...
...Finally.
This whole article is inflated sheer nonsense. =.=
I can already see the ad the dems would run.
ANNCR: Sarah Palin. She says she’ll fight for you
(Images: Headlines of “Palin Resigns as Governor”)
ANNCR: But she resigned as governor of Alaska. She did
not fight then. Why would she fight for you as governor?
When the going gets tough, the tough get going...
(Image of Sarah, black and white, an unattractive pose)
ANNCR: ...Will she REALLY fight for us...when she QUIT
then?
