Poll: Cain Overtakes Romney With GOP Primary Voters
Newsmax ^ | 10/4/11 | David Patten

A Newsmax/InsiderAdvantage poll shows businessman and radio talk-host Herman Cain now leading former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney among likely GOP primary voters in the fight for the 2012 Republican nomination. The exclusive poll, taken in the past 24 hours, shows Cain vaulting Romney 26 percent to 24 percent. The poll has a margin of error of 4.4 percent. Several other polls show similar results, establishing Cain as the new grass-roots frontrunner deadlocked with Romney, the establishment Republican choice. A new CBS poll showed Cain and Romney deadlocked, with each candidate garnering 17 percent of the vote. And a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows Romney leading Cain 22 percent to 17 percent — a statistical tie due to the poll’s margin of error.

I don`t know if the figure would be as high as 75%, but for sure an appreciable number of them will sit the election out... which is unfortunate, because 0bama is otherwise so beatable.

But, but, republicans and Tea Partiers are racists. How can this be?

Haven't you heard? We ARE Racists! Our supporting Herman Cain is 100% positive proof we are RACISTS just trying to assuage our guilt. Janeane Garafolo and Sheila Spaceman Lee said so!

I don’t know if that is what he meant or not. Why should Americans have to read into where his loyalties reside more than we did with Obama in 2008 ? I’m personally not interested in waiting until after the election to find out.

If Cain were genuinely on the side of the people and not the federal govt in the lap of the corporate lobby he would have phrased a very different statement along the lines of what you suggest: “My advice to anyone out of work is PICK YOURSELF up and go forward doing SOMETHING other than feeling sorry for your self!”

Even as Huntsman’s VP, I don’t trust Cain anymore. He has backtracked so much it looks like he flaps in the breeze of political commentary. His personal motivations are showing through no different than any other politician.

“It is scary, because you know that if and when the libs are threatened that they will lash out and attack Cain.”

It’s already starting on DNC PR outlet msnbc...the others will follow in lock step very soon...like today.

“we need to remember that Sarah is a member of the GOP in good standing. While she has broken ranks before, I do not think she would go against Romney with an endorsement of Cain.”

She has done much more than broken ranks with the GOP, she smacked the GOP Alaskan Establishment right in the face...all you have to do is watch that Murkowski wench to see that.

With Palin gone and Perry stumbling...watch the attacks begin on Cain now.

What I love about Cain being the front runner is that all the leftist media types are automatically racists if they say anything disparaging about him.

The problem with that is that the conservatives have warned the party... enough with the rinos... too many times to count. Too bad for them but it is time to stop supporting them period or it never stops....and I am plain done with stupidity of the party heads, so it seems is a good portion of the Republican base.

They can win in a landslide with an excited base or either squeak one out or loose once again with their stupidity. This party is about ready to have the conservatives split off it they keep this stupid game up because the conservatives are done.

This is a golden election year and one that could be history making for the party if their base is excited.

But you can never keep the stupid party from being stupid. They never learn from their own history....when was the last time a North Eastern Republican won the presidency?

“Cain-Rubio
LANDSLIDE”

Rubio has said “NO. No not ever.”

He knows, I know, and now you know that he is NBC ineligible. Time for you and others to move on from the Rubio for President meme. It ain’t ever gonna happen.

“Hopefully Palin will endorse Cain.”

While I hope that she does, I think that Sarah will concentrate on getting Conservative Tea Party types elected to Congress.

The president is not the silver bullet for the nations ills. The heavy lifting for our country’s revival and renewal lies in taking back both houses with a substantial majority that can support a president like Cain or Sarah.

In 2010 Sarah showed that she could have a positive influence in congressional races. It appears that this will be her chosen role in 2012. We and future preident Cain will benifit greatly from her efforts in electing a workable Congress and Senate.

Cain, with Sarah’s help will go a long way in shaking up the Washington establishment........both Dem and Pub. We need a modern day 1776.

So, we have two grounds for objection: (1) religious, and (2) policies. The first one would be equally the same between 0bama and Romney. For policies, I'd say one would have been very ignorant if he/she doesn't see any difference between the two, even though they both might be in the unacceptable range. Romney & his Mormonism may have many objectable qualities, but if one cannot see any difference between him and 0bama, I'd say again: he/she deserves to be under 0bama forever.

Again, I'm not suggesting anybody to vote for Romney. I'm arguing against supporting a 3rd party candidate.

In this instance, Romney's policies take a backseat to him being a Mormon. I will not vote for a Mormon, period. If that means third party, so be it.

I find it amusing the most "conservative" candidate in the race is the only one pushing a tax increase.

What people want in a president is a mystery to me. There are those who yearn so much for an outsider, they're willing to overlook a 9% national sales tax - stacked on top of whatever sales taxes they already pay.

Just plain weird

Very understandable now that Mrs Palin is not running. Conservatives will throw in with the most conservative.. and he is that. He will make an excellent president. Hoorah Mr Cain

If Cain actually gains traction I can guarantee you the FED and the commie revolutionaries won’t just stand by. They’ll hatch a plan to remove him from the race (by ANY means) and frame “racist” republicans.

Bless him for calmly and firmly standing by his beliefs on homosexuality and abortion. No waffling, no apologies.

Those issues actually attract a lot of black churchgoers. Plus, Mr. Cain speaks and looks like a typical blackman -- one who could never 'pass'. After the Obama debacle, I think many blacks are ready and eager to vote for a true black candidate. IIRC, Richard Nixon got about 30% of the black vote in 1960. I hope Cain can do as well, and also win a big chunk of the Jewish vote.
