Sarah Palin: Is her caribou cooked already?
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 10/3/2011 | Andrew Malcolm

Posted on 10/03/2011 6:31:13 AM PDT by Slyscribe

Eleven days before Michigan's candidate registration deadline. And we still don't know if former Gov. Sarah Palin is going, as she puts it, to toss her name into the hat.

Here's Palin's problem: We don't know. She likes it that way. It's late by contemporary announcement standards. And many of us, even those fascinated by her refreshing rogueness, have stopped caring. Certainly her would-be Republican opponents have moved on, as they should.

So, does it even matter now if SP drives her beautiful bus straight through the gates of tradition into a rogue race?

Oh, she’s going to run. Did you listen to TODD Palin’s interview with Steve Bannon, the producer of “The Undefeated”? He doesn’t strike me as the kind to enjoy doing interviews and I doubt he would be doing them if Sarah were not going to get in it and win it. We like her because she is unconventional so have patience. She is setting the stage in subtle ways and when she thinks the time is right she will announce and all heck will break loose. Pray for her as she is an existential threat to a lot of very powerful people.

So what you're saying is that when "Organize4Palin" can't even get ONE PERSON in SC or OH to run a web site for information or for contact, there are still "armies" of people who will come out of the woodwork to "organize" for Palin? Is that it/ Is that what you mean by the "info that has been posted?"

And if FR is your source of "organization," then you're reaching about 80,000 people nationally---of whom many support other candidates.

You’re right. I read it wrong. Forgive me. Trying to post while on the phone with an hysterical friend.

I hope your friend was hysterical in the meaning of "funny," and you two were having a good laugh; but if not, I hope whatever trouble she is having works out quickly and favorably.

No need to ask forgiveness, I figured it was a simple mistake. We all make 'em.

I hope you’re right. I most definitely pray for her and her family every day. They have been through so much garbage!

Unfortunately it was hysterical crying. I did the search while she was calming down enough so I could understand her.

If they REALLY didn't care, they wouldn't bother wasting time to write the article. I love the fact that, it's turning the Main stream media positively inside out that they don't know what Sarah's plan is. It's comical to watch them as they scurry all over each other attempting to latch onto some supposed “code word” Sarah may have uttered in each of her statements to the press or interviews, asking her ridiculous questions, attempting to goad her or get her to “slip” and confess, “ohh Charlie, you got me, your so clever, oh well the cat is out of the bag, I'm going to announce on xxxxx and this is what my campaign strategy will be, XXXXX but shhhh don't tell the others”... PLEASEEE come on... Sarah Palin is far brighter then they give her credit for, and the MSM is far slower then even we gave THEM credit for.
Relax, she'll do it when SHE is ready, HER way. Until then, perhaps it would behoove you MSM folks to actually go out and find some REAL news to report on. We'll let ya know when it's SARAH TIME.

Several things indicate there is not only room but need for Palin.

Every new favorite jumped on by freepers has self-destroyed.

First it was Michele Bachmann. I don’t need to tell you why she bombed out.

Then it was the savior Rick Perry, who shot to the top of the polls only to self destruct (hopefully not permanently) by his clumsy handling of the school tuition and border issue.

Now, the next flavor of the day is Herman Cain. We’re all over him.

However, he has now self-destructed for me, at least, by unfairly attacking a fellow Republican on a phony issue.

I think this desperation for someone new and perfect shows that there is a void that hasn’t been filled yet.

Sarah could do it.

Consciously or sub-consciously I think people are waiting for her to get in so we can see what happens.

Ummm, OK Andrew.

Sure makes me wonder why a guy who has "stopped caring" continues to milk Gov. Palin's name for yet another article.

Andrew, apparently you "care" enough to continue to make money writing about her.

You just don't get it, LS. When Sarah declares she will merely twitch her nose like Samantha from Bewitched and her organization across the country will at once appear.

To the concern “she quit” people.

You hold a position, in this position you can have endless frivolous lawsuits brought against you at little or no cost to the subsidized plaintiffs.

You earn $125,000.00 a year, you must personally pay all legal defense costs out of your own pocket. Said legal costs are now at $500,000,00+ and rising everyday.

Most all your time is now devoted to fighting the lawsuits and you cannot properly perform the work your position demands and your staff is thrown into turmoil with their constant researching and presenting evidence to rebut the lawsuits.

You attempt to start a legal defense fund, but immediately there are lawsuits brought stating that it is illegal for one in your position to do so, and a judge rules you must shut it down until the issue is decided in court.

You have taken out a second mortgage on your home, it is evident the legal costs are bankrupting your family.

Your staff under you are brought into the lawsuits, they too must obtain lawyers, their salaries cannot sustain these costs and it threatens their families economic well being also.

You can bring it all to an end by resigning, now tell me honestly, what would you do?

Well said...but the PDS’ers simply will ignore this reality as they have from the start.

“Stuck on Stupid” is just code for PDS sufferers.

I find it difficult to believe that $2 million for the State of Alaska was a major problem. And I find it equally difficult to understand how these matters “brought the government to a standstill.” Lastly, if Sarah Palin is such a conservative icon, how would her “relinquishing her power for the good of the people” actually be a “good thing for the people.” I don’t know what her motivation was. Was it altruism or self preservation? Personally, I’d gladly have paid the money to keep her as governor. Just saying.

If she gets in the race. She has to get in breathing fire and nail Romney, Perry and Co to the wall quickly...

It would be too late for a lot of people.

But we are talking about Sarah Palin so that should be no problem for her.

She said it would be unconventional.....

I think her plan for winning is to get in, ride her entry wave, rip the current front runners to pieces just as she did Obama in her 08 RNC speech... and then see what happens.

It wasn't only the money. If it was, that could have been overcome. The problem was that all the nuisance ethics charges were concocted to paralyze the Palin administration from doing the job she was elected to do. Her state was suffering because of it. The left had Palin cornered and trapped in the Governor's office. She couldn't effectively fight back.

By resigning, she accomplished several things. First, Sean Parnell wasn't on the hit list so he would be able to carry on as the governor, setting him up to be elected to a full term in 2010, which he was. Alaska was spared the onslaught of dirty politics of the Establishment Elites hellbent on destroying Palin.

Secondly, now Sarah Palin was completely free to fight back, which she has. She was now able to travel about the country, speaking out on the issues, pointing out Obama's flaws and endorsing and campaigning for solid conservatives. For all intents and purposes, she became the most known and effective face of the tea party movement. I doubt that our victory in 2010 would have been quite as big without her.

She never "quit" anything. Those who think that have a problem understanding the events before, during and after her resignation. A good exercise for people to do is come out and name someone in the Republican party who was more relentless in taking on the Obama regime on every issue. That doesn't sound like a quitter to me. The battle rages on, the front has moved all because Sarah Palin refused to allow her enemies to define or defeat her. I, for one, am damn proud of her.

They were trying to legally and financially bar her from leaving her state. How would she campaign ?

If by "rip" you mean confront directly and verbally tear to shreds, I don't think so. I think she will campaign similar to her Indianola speech, where she rips into Obama, but uses themes that also apply to her Republican competition (Corporate Crony Capitalism). At the same time, she will talk about her plans for the country's future. Just as she did with CCC, she will set the agenda being discussed. Notice how less than 24 hours after that speech, everyone in and out of the media was talking about crony capitalism.
