No, what he said was that the name of the place was “insensitive”. That’s it... And everyone who keeps pretending he was the one who even brought it up - instead of as a response to a race-baiting question by Christine Amanpour - are frankly acting like imbeciles.
Nah, Gingrich is very smart; I respect him; just disagree. He would probably make a fine President. Of course we would need a conservative Congress just to keep him honest ... you know what I mean.
He took the bait hook line and sinker and smeared Perry willingly.
I was out all day, at the football game and then post-game activities. I was just made aware of this less than an hour ago when I saw Cain's remarks on the local news.
I had a lot of respect for Herman Cain before today.
Sad to say, I don't think very well of him now.
He accepted the premise that it was Perrys ranch
and he ran with it.
He went out of his way to tell us the dastardly word.
He never in any way credited the Perry family for being the ones to remove the word.
All this after pontificating that he would have been most level headed and benevolent on the DADT question if it been in a forum where he had time to think.
Well, you just had time to think before you smeared Perry Mr Cain
“Yes, I really think he can beat Obama electorally; otherwise I would not support him. He can’t debate his way out of a paper bag but he can win anyway.”
What makes you think he can win? Because he has a campaign staff that can put out lots of TV ads? Ultimately it will be Perry on the ballot and not his campaign staff. Nobody would even be talking about Cain if Perry blew Romney to pieces. It shouldn’t be so hard...
RE: It amazes me that last week people accused Perry of being an illegal lover and now this week they accuse him of being a closet racist.
The most we can accuse Herman Cain of is his speaking without considering the entire background of the so called controversy. Herman Cain I believe was speaking under the (wrong) assumption that Perry placed the word in his ranch.
Had he known the entire context of the story, he would backtrack ( as he has often did ).
But again, I never got the impression that Cain believes for a moment that Perry is a racist ( or even a closet racist ).
That is what PEOPLE who want to divide the GOP want others to believe and that is what people want Herman Cain to believe but that is NOT what Herman Cain is telling us.
If anything, I only got the impression that Cain believes that the use of that word is insensitive. NO BIG DEAL IN MY OPINION.
Sounds like a typical cult recruiting technique; have you considered Ron Paul ? He may be your ticket.
I love when conservatives spend so much time talking and thinking about homosexuals even though they are against them. It’s funny.
Anyway, gays serving in the military is 0.01% of my concern about the future of our nation. We have a lot more serious problems to solve and, if you can’t understand that and dream of what homosexuals do when you can’t watch them, please don’t vote.
I have defended Herman Cain at every turn.
No More.
BTW congratulations Houston Texans!
Thank you for posting the quote accurately. There have been other posts on this thread which have been intentionally misleading. I believe that the operative word in the quote was “Today”. This is the same answer I and many others here would give. Depending on how the campaign develops I could choose to give Perry my support in the future. Today I am simply not ready to give my support to GW part deux. No insult meant to our former president which I supported through all of his ups and downs.
RE: He accepted the premise that it was Perrys ranch
and he ran with it.
And yes he is WRONG on that point. THAT’s ALL. But that does not make him a race baiter as some posters would want us to believe.
He made the “insensitivity” point while wrongly believing that it was Perry’s ranch.
And no, I don’t think he smeared Perry at all. He was talking under a wrong assumption.
I am quite certain that had he been given all the facts, he would have given a different opinion.
Your last post had nothing to do with that I said.
Anyone that believes in Global warming can NOT think for themselves.
In other words Gingrich is a populist he is unable or unwilling to think for himself. Which a populist is the opposite of a conservative
I await Mr Cains clarification on the matter.
RE: I have defended Herman Cain at every turn.

Let’s put it this way — we defend a candidate when he is right and when he is unfairly accused of something.
However, that should not mean that we defend the candidate under ALL circumstances, not when he is clearly wrong.
No other current candidate looks to get that high except maybe Gingrich (who would win the debates). Perry will have such low expectations going into the debates he will probably be reluctantly scored a winner by not losing.
RE: I await Mr Cains clarification on the matter.
We both do. However, on this I am certain -— HE IS NOT A RACE BAITER. The moment he uses race as a basis for telling people to vote for him, or to infer that he is superior to others because of it, is the moment he loses any support I might have .
RE: Sounds like a typical cult recruiting technique;
Takes one to know one.
RE: have you considered Ron Paul ?
NEVER.
RE: He may be your ticket.
And how do you know this?
I looked through your posts back to the first of the year... Did you defend Cain here or in some other forum?
