I was pointing out that the so-called quote that you were using was not what he said at all. You said that he said the word “insulting”. I said that he said it was “insensitive”. I didn’t say he didn’t mention Perry at all, and I didn’t say that his statement was taken out of context. I only pointed out that you were quoting the wrong word. There is a difference between the word “insulting” and “insensitive”.
If Cain had used the word “insulting” THEN I could see where people would be more upset - it would indicate that Cain was taking it personally vs. recognizing that there ARE some things that really shouldn’t be said just out of respect for others and to not recognize that IS “insensitive” to others...
Honestly, I think this whole thing is starting to sound like some of the crap back during the 2008 primaries (late 2007) when Romney and Huckabee were doing everything it seemed they could to cause rifts between OTHER candidates thinking it would make them look better (look back at the Anti-Thompson stuff on Politico). I’m seeing a lot of astroturf, and I think people are having knee-jerk reactions as far as all of a sudden dropping support for Cain because he may have been misinformed, and especially when this whole thing was probably a set-up by the LEFT.
I think the tail is wagging the dog at this point, and that NONE of this really has ANYTHING to do with either Cain OR Perry (it smells like something cooked up by another candidate to take them both out of contention...).
