New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reconsidering his decision not to enter the 2012 presidential race and he says he will let top Republican donors know within days about his plans, Newsmax has learned. During the past few weeks, several leading Republican donors and fundraisers have been urging the popular Republican governor to reconsider his decision not to run and to enter the GOP primary. These Christie supporters note that significant GOP support has remained on the sidelines of the primary fight. Many leading fundraisers have yet to commit to any current primary contender, including frontrunners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney. Newsmax has learned that the effort to draft Christie culminated in a hush-hush powwow held in the past week with Christie and several notable Republican billionaires.

bring it on. Palin’s ready to take all of em on and WIN! Christie can feel free to join the dull debates in October while Palin wows the world leaders at the global business conference she’ll be attending in South Korea...she still has time to make her announcement and no one can steal the thunder that will come with it.
Oh no no... wait a week after Christy announces. that way his entry bounce will be starting to fade a bit.
What is it about ALL of these ‘12 GOP Presidential candidates/possible candidates being way too weak on illegal immigration issues? Bleep bleep!
LOL she did earn the moment! LOL
I agree that the RINO term is overused, but we do have to settle on a nominee, and to do so we need to draw out the differences between them.
You are also right that there is no perfect candidate, but is there even an acceptable one?
I actually think the process is working pretty well. Those who care are learning a lot about the candidates, the rest of America has no idea the process is even going on!
But still, it's kind of funny, especially given the proclivities of the Freepers, to wit:
ROMNEY: Is hated by the proprietor of the establishment, and we were all treated to anti-Romney banners on every posting in the off-off year. In truth Romney probably does fit the desciption RINO pretty well, so even without the propaganda he was never going to be a Freeper favorite. Many Freepers avow that they will go third party or not vote if he is the nominee.
PALIN: The great Conservative hope of so many here still hasn't decided to get in the race, still is tossing out little hints, but not getting on with it. Her numbers are steadily declining in the polls, and it looks at least plausible that she's not going to run.
PERRY: Revealed to love Mexico deeply, and consequently completely flawed on the immigration issue, he is still doing well in the polls, but real conservatives are taking another look. His debate performances have been uninspiring.
BACHMANN: Blew up quickly after Iowa, then seemed to blow out. Lost her campaign manager (which might be a blessing in disguise, but it's a bad time to have to sub out your coach), has seemed strangely off topic in the debates, has dropped back into single digits, doesn't seem Presidential material near as much as she did two months ago.
PAUL: Is growing in the polls, but clearly is never going to win the nomination with his idiosyncratic views. But his percent going up to 10% of 15% from the 5% he got last time has to be bad for other Conservatives and good from Romney.
The low single digit guys: Hermain Cain, Gary Johnson, Rick Santorum, Huntsman and Newt Gingrich still look like long shots without the base or money to go very far.
Pawlenty and Trump quit already.
It's kinda funny. There really isn't a candidate I like at this point.
The scope and power of the federal government is so far perverted from its original design, and universal suffrage is one of the reasons things got to be the way they are.
What controls now is "the mob," and it is easily manipulated by the press.
If Christie doesn’t run, then Romney will win the nomination..
As Kasper Gutman once said, "Yes, sir, we were, but this is genuine coin of the realm. With a dollar of this, you can buy ten dollars of talk."
Yes America needs a Sharia Law friendly Commander in Chief.(sarcasm)
Truly...when do think the last time this big-boned fellow “ran”.
Great. #10 to clutter up the stage? This is getting to be a joke.
The modern day Grover Cleveland.
Where is there evidence of Perry capturing significant numbers of illegal aliens? Serious question.
The bastard raised tolls 50% with AUTOMATIC YEARLY INCREASES for the future. Think about what he will do with taxes.
In that case I have no idea what you’re talking about. Nowhere in my post #23 did I mention Christy or him being a conservative.
Yeah, the South is just praying for a gun-grabbing Yankee liberal from New Jersey to enter the race.
Actually dreamland is a much better place than the NWO types have planned for us.
I will not go gently into that sweet goodnight, you are free to do whatever pleases you.
My vote will not be cast in fear, or it will not be cast. If we are content to say well it could be worse, then it probably will be worse.
How about hunting for a real leader instead of tying to pick from the cr@p that the establishment throws at the wall in the hopes that we go back to sleep.
Wow a double response did I hit a nerve, PA paranoia. Or NJ envy? I have my protection piece. Went through the legal process to get a permit and had it fairly quickly. So please educate me on how I was denied my right?
