I watched Perry on that immigration question, spar with Santorum. I am very sad to say Perry makes me sick looking at him. He has a strange look in his eyes. I hate people weaseling about immigration. Three months ago I thought I was pro Perry. He inferred I am one of those nasty words I think.
Will wait and see what happens in the next six months.

When Perry encourages illegals to stay, a Texas problem becomes an American Problem. SURP.

It was always an American problem, a federal problem, that Texas and other states have been stuck with.

Feds let them in. Federal court says you have to give them benefits and free education. Feds don't deport. States are stuck with these people. These de-facto Texans, thanks to the Feds, are being treated like other Texans if they are trying to become citizens.

While he has made a couple of good points tonight, I will never be a Ron Paul supporter.

I have always maintained that he is good on economic issues, but he is too far out on too many other important issues, foreign policy being just one.

So why do we build fences around airports, military bases, nuclear plants, the WH, etc.?

Romney-Santorum? Sounds like a recipe for 3rd Party to me.

Yes, but do you understand the futility of trying to build a 1200 mile fence down the middle of a river?

If I heard right, this “in-state” tuition goes for those illegals who are in the system for citizenship, no?

You heard correctly.

[Good. How do you explain to your kids that people who break the law and their children are given preferential treatment over the rest of us citizens that attempt to follow the laws and live by the rules?]

They don’t get preferential treatment. If they have lived in TX for 3 years, graduated from a TX high school, and are working for citizenship, they get in-state tuition. The residency for out-of-state US citizens is only 1 year for in-state tuition.

In addition, have you noticed how Cain has been very articulate, yet ends right on the dot, time-wise?
******************
yes, that’s one thing I am noticing, Cain gets better and better—he seems to study the past debates and learns from them. He improves each time we see him.

PERRY lost this one BIG TIME on Immigration (and Santorum helped), and his support (GWB-light "compassionate conservatism") of spending our tax dollars to educate anchor babies, sons and daughters of illegal aliens--particularly in this horrendous economy for REGULAR AMERICANS. Just kinda' like America (and Texas) is one big ass ATM. NOT a conservative position.

As I understand it, and please correct me if I’m wrong, anyone (illegal) receiving in state (Texas) tuition, must have applied for U.S. citizenship first....

Instead of worrying how to keep them from coming across, we need to work on way’s to destabilize the gangsters that have run that country for centuries.

Simple. Seal the border to the extent possible and keep the Mexicans in Mexico until they revolt against their ruling class and have the revolution they should have had long ago.

By allowing illegal entry into the US to be a constant pressure safety value for the rulers in Mexico, we support the corrupt ruling class and perpetuate them.

People living in freedom anywhere fought for and won it at some point. No ruling class gives up their position voluntarily. Time for Mexicans to do that.

How do you build a fence across a lake?

You know the border patrols hands are tied to stop them...read the Border Patrols site which explains they cannot interfer with those crossings and why. Take away those restrictions and let the Border patrol do their job
