Texas Governor Rick Perry said during a New York press conference Tuesday that his Christian faith requires his strong support of Israel.
I also as a Christian have a clear directive to support Israel, so from my perspective its pretty easy, Perry said when a reporter asked if Perrys faith was driving his views, according to the Associated Press. Both as an American and as a Christian, I am going to stand with Israel.
Perry, surrounded by what he called a diverse group of Jewish leaders from here and abroad, characterized President Obamas approach to the Middle East as naive and arrogant, misguided and dangerous. Perry also outlined the policy stance he would take toward Israel as president. You can read Perrys proposal here.

This will either play out for Rick and against ozero, or not.
I'm guessing he just got the evangelical vote.
It’s pretty simple really.
When a bad wind blows for Islam Obama will stand with the Muslims.
Right from his book.
Perry will stand with Israel.
Simple choice really. If Rick gets the nominatiopn I go with Rick.Of Course there is one other I would rather go with, but she hasn’t applied for the job yet.
The headline is a lie. Perry didn’t say what is in the headline.

I stand with Perry, for his stand on Israel.
What article did you read?

Pray for Israel
He needs to learn how to pronounce the word “Israel.” It is NOT pronounced “Iz’rul.”
Too bad Perry is such a total zero on illegal immigration.
When he states views like this he sounds like the kind of leader we need.
Then there is that Shamnesty issue overshadowing everything else he says and does....
It’s funny and frustrating at the same time.
You can show a sheeperal 0bama supporter quotes like that out of his own books, and they’ll still deny that he’s not what they’ve made him out to be.
“He’s not a Marxist, don’t be ridiculous”
“I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets.” - Barack Obama (Dreams of My Father)

IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

walk into a bar...
And the bartender says, "What would you like to drink, Mr. President?"
Yeah he did. WaPo just didn’t quote him directly. The AP story quotes, “Both as an American and as a Christian I am going to stand with Israel,” stated the Texas governor.”
As others pointed out, he DID say it.
And he said as much in 2009 as well.

Gov. Perry went on to describe his support for Israel from a religious point of view, saying, Im a big believer that this country was given to the people of Israel a long time ago, by God, and thats ordained.

bump.
The headline is “As a Christian ... I stand with Israel.”
In fact, Perry said, “Both as an American and as a Christian, I am going to stand with Israel.”
The ellipses in the headline are in the wrong place, and consequently emphasize only Perry’s faith, not on his being an American.
I maintain that the headline is not entirely accurate, even if you take into consideration the inclusion of ellipses. Words do matter; Perry’s real words provide subtle clarity to his ideas about Israel not evident in the headline.
LOL That’s Texas pronunciation for you. I love it!
Thanks for posting those articles. Our president will need to have a communicable relationship with the Muslims without compromising Israel in any way and it appears that Perry has been able to do that. Very interesting.
