While co-host Ann Curry on Tuesday's NBC "Today" wondered if Ron Suskind's "Confidence Men" was "fact or fiction," on August 5, 2008, then-co-host Meredith Vieira touted Suskind's claim in "Way of the World" that the Bush administration's case for the Iraq war was "worse than Watergate."
Speaking of Suskind's latest work on Tuesday, Curry described how Obama administration "top officials are lining up to say they were either misquoted or taken out of context by the author." She then wondered: "Did he get the story right?"
In contrast, while Vieira noted the Bush White House labeling Suskind's book at that time "absurd and gutter journalism," she also stressed the reporter's credibility: "And now to that new bombshell book that claims the White House deliberately misled the American public about the case for war in Iraq. The author, a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist."
On Tuesday, Curry set up a report by White House correspondent Chuck Todd by emphasizing skepticism of Suskind: "We're going to begin now with that controversial new book about President Obama and the questions over its accuracy." In the report that followed, Todd explained how Obama advisors quoted in the book "all contest the book's reporting, saying their words were taken out of context or never even spoken" and that "The White House is pushing back furiously at author Suskind, even suggesting he lifted part of the book directly from the internet."

After all of this I hope the next president gets rid of the overturn of don’t ask, then Govt health care and then has an investigation into how media outlets worked with the obama’s during these last 4 years or 8 years if the biased media has anything to to do with it

I hope you don't mind, but I corrected it for you. The answer to your rhetorical question is No, NO ONE in the GOP has the spine to take on any DBM news outlet. They're too afraid that the media won't like them and won't invite them to any more of their parties, much less want to interview them.

I was at a neighbors last weekend having a few drinks and this guy was laid off two years ago, he’s a good ole boy, solidly conservative but here’s the problem.
He’s been at home watching his local news channels and the subject of the so called bill came up and right away he said congress is stopping the bill.
I put my head in my hands and had to tell him there was no bill at that stage and there are no specifics.
How many more are like him but have no one to correct him and tell him the truth and all because the locals news channels are covering for their messiah and his party?

When they’re on air they should say”why are you not covering the half billion given” or why are you not informing your viewers over the General who was told to change his statement”
or better still” why do you constantly keep covering for obama, you did this in the last election and you fail to inform your viewers about what is really going on”

He also wrote a biography of Nixon and worked on Nixon's National Security Council, but resigned over the Cambodia policy.
Of course he was critical of Nixon and the left loved him. They also loved his intent to expose the lies about the Clintons and the liars.
But a funny thing happened. He learned that much of it was true and he made the mistake of publishing his book anyway. D'oh! Nary an invite anywhere except local talk radio. I bought the book in a local book store's dollar bin shortly thereafter.
My favorite is David P. Schippers and his book Sellout: The Inside Story of President Clinton's Impeachment.
The left loved the book that exposed the Republicans involved in Clinton's impeachment until one of the MSM employees actually read the book.
End of the "news" articles praising the book and instead "news" articles attacking Schippers began.
I saw some, ahem, “conservatives” here a couple of weeks ago repeating everything Big Media said about the “hikers” in Iran saying they weren’t willing to call the media liars on THIS case.....
Hussein Heads are scary beasts.
